Me and my husband took my parents to Arraial and a lot of places were already booked but we managed to get our hands on two rooms here (fits four ppl in each room). The rooms were big and very nicely decorated and felt fresh and clean. Had a split AC. They had a great breakfast buffet and super friendly staff, everyone made an effort to make sure we were satisfied. After 22 they had a guy doing security, he kept my dad company when he smoked (even though my dad doesn't speak Portuguese). I have nothing but good things to say about this place. A++
I came to Arrajal not knowing where to go. I saw some simple pousadas but since I am a frequent traveller it was too simple. When I saw Coisa e Tao in the corner I went in and checked the rooms and its surroundings. It was not a pousada, more of a high level hotel. The rooms are all very stylish and well furnitured. It is very clean and tidy. The garden is really beautiful and the people who work there or run the hotel is really nice. The breakfast was excellent. Better than a 5 star hotel. It is also situated not far from the "praca" or the beach or the city center. Just 200 to 300 meters. It is much better since it can be noisy in the centre of the town. Thanks for a wonderful stay. I am sure i will be back. Roger Holmgren
We stayed her for a few nights in August 2013 and met the owners who were running it. Apparently the owners had other people running the pousada and have recently taken over as it was in a terrible state. I was very happy with the hotel although it did have some issues. But considering the owner had only been managing the property for the past month these could be considered teething problems. PROS: - Large recently well decorated rooms - Very friendly and helpful staff - Car park on site, although it is very small and would fill quickly - Gardens are very nice and pool is kept spotlessly clean - Good location within easy walking distance to the main street with restaurants and bars. CONS: - I returned to the room late one night and couldn't get the key to work. Although I was banging about trying to get in there was no sign of security or a caretaker. I must admit I did feel a little unsafe. - When I went to pay I was informed that they had no card machine and I needed to pay in cash. If I had been told earlier I could have prepared for this. On the day we were checking out the one ATM in town that allows my foreign card to work had run out of cash, so we had to pay the following week by bank transfer. Not very convenient. - Lots of mosquitos. Take the repellent!…
We would not recommend you to stay at this pousada. Walking home from the city center we got robbed on the street and they have stolen also our room key. When we arrived to the pousada, there was nobody who could help us. After knocking 2 minutes on the door, a security man came to ask what he can do for us. We asked him to open the hotel, but he didn't have any key neither the phone number of the owner. After a long while we could finally contact the owner and he came to the hotel and this was a horrible moment: he was very aggressive and startet to shout and said that it's not his responsability and that we're stupid to wake him up at night. At least he expulsed us from his pousada at 3am!! So we had to leave and look for a new pousada. The place looks nice but after this experience I don't think it's very safe, as everyone can step into the garden and the security wouldn't notice it. As the rooms are accessable from the garden, I would feel unsafe there.…
