We had 3 kids with us. Ages 8 to 12. We all loved the stay, especially the morning farm tour and feeding. The owner, Narita is such an affable and bubbly woman. Prices were 15 per adult, 10 per child and 5 for a powered site. Quaint kitchen and gardens. Perfect place to spend the night if your on to... More

This was one of my favorite places we have ever stayed. We stayed in one of the cottages, which was incredibly spacious and cozy. Narita, our host, was amazing. She was so kind and helpful, and so much fun to talk to. She went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We had so... More

We only stayed one night but this could be a really good base to explore the nearby region. The cottage is old but quaint and comfortable. The hostess was really welcoming and gave us an enjoyable tour of the little farm to feed the baby animals. Highly recommended.

I wanted somewhere different to stay on our holiday, so we chose the HOUSE TRUCK. On arrival we were greeted by the ever smiling (sorry I forget your name), lovely lady, who did warn us the H.T. is old before entering. It looked just like the pics, so I was happy. To top it off, the property had, pigs, horses,... More

Stayed in a campervan here for the night and had a lovely nights stay. As far as we could tell we were the only campervan there that night but it is winter. All facilities were great, showers and toilets were very clean. The owners are very welcoming and friendly, showing us around all the animals in the morning. The alpaca... More

This is a great accommodation, especially if you go...ADVENTURE! WE had to work in caves, got "home" all dirty, with overalls and boots to be cleaned, and rucksacks etc. I was a bit worried we were messying up the place. But Narita, the lovely owner ofthe place, had always a wonderful smile and said "don't worry, I'll clean up after... More

We liked so much our staying that we past 3 nights here! We had our tent, so the lady gave us a really nice spot by the facilities! Restroom and kitchen cleaned daily and the owners are really lovely people! There are not lights around on the street, so we could enjoy a wonderful sky! It's a farm, so you... More

Very friendly hosts and very well located for a trip to the caves. We were upgraded from the truck house because it had been damaged. The stand alone three bed house is great with lots of space and very clean but with weak wifi. Also enjoyed looking around the farm. Thanks for a great stay.

Accidently stumbled across this online. The price was right, the idea appealed and there was space available... so we booked. What a little gem! Welcoming notes on the door, milk in the fridge (a whole 2ltrs!) , a welcoming smile, gorgeous homely cottage and a personalised welcome sign on the door! Lots of added extras inside that are truly thoughtful... More

Great location, about 5 to 10 minutes drive to Waitomo caves. Owner Narita and her family very friendly and helpful - made sure we settled in comfortably, and brought us round the farm. My children had a great time! Even though we stayed only one night, it was memorable and a great start for our NZ trip!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Waitomo Farmstay and Gardens was started in October 2011 when we recognised that not everyone looking for Waitomo accommodation was a thrill seeker! Waitomo Farmstay and Gardens is a family owned business, and has something for everyone. Waitomo Farmstay is the perfect spot to make your base during your stay in the King Country. Our large and comfortable rustic cottage has lovely country views, and the farm tour we offer our guests is sure to entertain. Because we are are situated only a short car ride from the world famous Glow Worm Caves, and the townships of Otorohanga and Te Kuiti it makes sense that you should book your stay at our Waitomo Farmstay and Gardens today! If you are just passing through the King Country be sure to come and see our Gardens which are currently under development. We are slowly gathering a collection of vintage farm machinery and other items of interest which we plan to showcase amongst the trees and flowers of our gardens. We gladly accept any suggestions, donations, or voluntary work - and are more than happy to acknowledge this within the gardens. We cater to all ages - so why not pack a picnic and take some time to meet our friendly animals and take a gentle stroll around our gardens. We look forward to meeting you! ... more   less
