Bill, Lisa and the other staff on the island were excellent hosts and did every thing they could to make our stay comfortable. The resort is very expensive for what you get, particularly the accommodation. Most of the fares are very basic; thankfully due to stormy weather we were moved to a more comfortable and sturdy one after a few...

This place is gorgeous - all you would expect from a tropical hideaway. The hosts Bill and Lisa are lovely and welcoming and all the staff are super friendly. The food was great and varied and plenty of it! I don't eat meat so got tasty vegetarian or fish options...these were always delicious. We are not divers so were a...

My teenage son and I spent 9 nights on the island snorkelling and diving in the clear, warm water over magnificent corals. The island is very peaceful, since few people have permission to visit it unless they are among the residents of the 7 Fare on the island. The reefs are in a marine reserve and, again, the resort dive...

We loved tranquility, Bill and Lisa and all the staff looked after us with lots of kindness and individual attention and care. We benefitted from the total escape and have many great memories of our adventures both in land and in the blue clear ocean. The island offers so much, including secluded beaches, romantic evenings next to the fire, lots...

The hardest thing to do when at Tranquillity is to get ready to leave and then leave. We like Vanuatu and on a previous occasion we stayed at Hideaway Island, our intention was to go back there but as it happened the place was booked out and we settled for Tranquility Island. Best thing that could have happened. Diving and...

Hard to say how much we enjoyed our time at Tranquility. We arrived aboard the Island Diver, expecting just the usual welcome and sedate check-in and settling in but, instead, we were immediately bundled back into the boat with our gear and off to the wonderful Owens' reef for a dive. The energy and enthusiasm from Bill (who seemed genuinely...

Other reviewers have said it all before about the great hospitality - from the owner, the managers, the office staff, the chefs, dive instructors and others who came every day to the island. I loved the feeling that after a couple of days it became "our" island too. One thing that really impressed was the commitment to the turtle breeding...

Luxury is not the first word that comes to mind when you stay at Tranquillity - words which do are - peace, service, simplicity, friendliness and great diving. We only stayed two nights, but wished we had stayed a couple more. The resort is small - only seven Fares, most sleeping 2-3, though the four of us were in the...

We spent 10 nights at Tranquility Dive Resort (22/6 to 1/7/14) and loved every minute of it. The experience was made so memorable not only by the stunning environment (the diving, the bush tracks, the wildlife, the weather, the beaches etc. etc.) but also by Bill and Lisa the managers and everyone else who made sure our stay was unforgettable....

Your wedding was one of the most challenging events we have had at tranquility with 42 guests with most of them staying on the island. The ceremony on Hapi Tok beach was wonderful and you made the greatest couple, even the weather looked after you. Over the five days you were with us we enjoyed your company immensely even though...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We do not offer luxury, but we do offer simplicity and the chance to get back to nature. Our beach huts are stylish yet basic and constructed from local materials using local methods. Each faces its own private beach and is equipped with western facilities. The island has no mains power so there are no flat screen television or mini bars, but we do stock cold drinks in the restaurant and our food is freshly delivered every day. We use solar panels to provide 24 hour lighting and we have a diesel generator that is on for several hours each day providing 200-240 volts to charge up your gadgets. We pump water from an underground lens and harvest rain water whenever possible. We aim to minimise our impact on the island land, cutting back trees and growth only where essential and leaving habitats intact. Free WIFI is available at our WIFI hotspot and local mobile phone networks cover the island. With no mains electricity, no cars or bikes and very little light pollution, Tranquillity offers you the chance to see, feel and listen to nature as nature intended. Campsite and private beach camping available as well. ... more   less
