Makapa Lodge is a very homely guesthouse. Maybe even better than home. A 30 min drive from Cape Town International(CPT) this lodge is situated in Capri Village near the Kommeitjie Road in Fishhoek. There are 5 rooms out of which one is self catering and the rest are bed and breakfast. Supplies for the self catering cabin can be bought... More

We stayed in Makapa Lodge in March for 3 nights. It is the ideal place for bird watchers and nature lovers. In the morning hours the guinea fowl family was walking through the garden, then the birds came to visit the fountain or the proteas. The location is close to the Cape but also to the beach towns. Margret and... More

We spent 4 nights at Makapa Lodge at the end of January 2013. An excellent location as only a short drive from both Cape Point and all the sites of Cape Town with many picturesque towns and fabulous beaches in-between to discover. Ian and Margaret were fabulous hosts and a mine of information of where to visit or eat, when... More

Do not take "WIFI" for granted. It come and goes. And if it is there, bandwidth is negligible. That might be true for many places in South Africa. But here, I experienced it to be worse. No clue if one can do anything about it. But before someone will report s.th. positive about WIFI, I will not stay there a... More

In the last days of december we stayed in the beautiful Garden Room of Makapa Lodge. The room was nicely decorated and the owners were very hospitable. Makapa Lodge is in a good location and from here you can explore the cape region and Capetown.

This is a very nice guesthouse situated in the hills above Kommetjie. It was lovely and cool, and the views are lovely. The poolside suite is very comfortable, and the host are very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are plentiful and tasty. A very relaxing and pleasant stay at the end of our holiday.

We spent 3 nights at Makapa Lodge towards the end of February 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our poolside suite was very comfortable and well furnished. It opened straight out on the patio area infront of the pool. The views from the room and from the breakfast balcony are breathtaking looking straight out over the Atlantic and Chapmans Peak.... A big thank you to Margaret and Ian for helping our stay to be so great. The location, views, amenities and hospitality were first class. Very helpful advice as to where to eat locally, suitable time to visit Table Mountain, helping to book boarding cards etc. As other reviews state, Makapa Lodge is ideally situated for visits to Cape Town...
