I booked 2 days at Sanbona wildlife reserve as the first part of our family Christmas in South Africa. I had already been to two other reserves in SA in August and November and whilst looking forward to the experience I didn't think it would be that much different to the other reserves. I am pleased to say that I...

We drove from Cape Town up to the Dwyka tented lodges and it must be said that the journey was more like 4.5 hours unlike what we were advised. We had a small hire car and this was more than sufficient to navigate through the "dirt tracks" once in the game reserve. Upon arrival we were greeted by the manager...

My husband and I stayed at Dwyka Tented Lodge in November, I had high hopes from reviews on here and was not disappointed. From the scenery, luxurious "tents" (my sort of tent with french windows luxury bathrooms and plunge pool), all the staff, lovely and plentiful food, excellent company and to Jani (?) our ranger and guide who had such...

Recently enjoyed a great two-night stay at Sanbona. Karen and Herman were terrific hosts for the Tilney Manor. David was our ranger/animal tour driver and did a great job on our morning and evening outings. The two guys who who ran the kitchen and served the meals added greatly to the enjoyment of the stay.

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay at Tilney Manor for two nights at the end of November and it was a wonderful experience. Our accommodations were luxurious and very comfortable. We had a huge room with a lovely view that we enjoyed between our game drives. There were fresh flowers in the rooms, freshly cut from the...

Four of us stayed at Tilney Manor for 2 nights and 4 game drives. Within a reasonable 3 hour drive from Cape Town, Sanbona is an oasis of peace and beauty. The Manor is small, really welcoming, and made very special by the people who work there. From the real characters who serve you (Ocean is quite something) through to...

My wife and I stayed at the Dwyka Tented Lodge at Sanbona in November. I cannot possibly say enough good things about Sanbona. Everything about it is amazing, the people, the scenery, the food, the accomodations. It is spectacular. The rangers care so much about the animals and their efforts to create a healthy and natural ecosystem is admirable to...

We spent three nights at Tilney Manor in November and had the absolute time of our lives. We saw so much wildlife and gained so much knowledge thanks to the amazing Alwyn, our ranger. He was exceptionally knowledgeable, and really made an effort making the game drives special for us every morning and evening. The sights we saw will stay...

Tilney Manor was absolutely amazing and it exceeded all my expectations. We chose Sanbona (like SokerStu) because it was a self sustaining reserve and the drive would allow us to see other area's outside of Cape Town. Recomendation 1 - give yourself more than 3.5 hours as a large portion of the road is single lane. Recomendation 2 - use...

This lodge certainly lives up to its 5 star rating! The service was superb, as was every single bite of food we had during our stay. The staff is accommodating and friendly, and will do anything possible to make you comfortable (and well fed, with great wine etc etc). The rooms are absolutely huge and lovely, no aspect of luxury...
