After staying in Cape Town and Francshoek we came down to earth here, barn style, tin roofers, noisy, creaky barn, musty smell, dirty pool, need I go on! Definitely no where near 4 star, no fridge, no wifi, no tv and miserable host

We had a wonderful welcome from Bernie and were shown to a small but very comfortable room. However, the best was yet to come! We had a welcome drink In the shady gardens, followed by a five course feast accompanied by five quality Mimosa wines. If you are in the area, this is one experience you have to try.

Everything was good. The rooms were good. The food was fantastic!!! But it was Bernie's attention to detail and absolutely fantastic attitude that made our stay spectacular!!! When you make a booking, make sure to ask for Bernie to be on duty.

Staying for a night as we travel towards Knysna. Greeted by Bernie (apologies if I have got the name wrong). Such a warm welcome & throughout our stay he showed a high degree of knowledge & professionalism.......a huge asset to the business. The highlight of the stay was the evening meal....initially thought it was a little expensive but for the... More

Excellent guest house in Montagu. Nice gardens and relaxing atmosphere. Easy to find. Children well catered for. Staff most helpful and courteous . The proprietors have an excellent work ethic and great support from their staff.

Wonderful room, towards the back of the garden, this is not a B&B as we know in the Uk. We arrived too late to book for dinner the first night and as a result the patron did not recognise us for breakfast and was a bit distant? We ate the first night across the road in Ye Olde Tavern, which... More

We were put in honeymoon suite, very big barn like building, in need of some modernisation, kept awake all night with tree branches scratching on the tin roof. Outside pool dirty and full of leaves. Staff helpful and friendly.

We stayed in a garden room which was lovely. We didn't eat in the hotel but at a restaurant opposite which we enjoyed but you do need to book. Breakfast was good and the staff friendly.Don't turn up early...check in time is when they say it is!

We stayed here for 2 nights and really had an enjoyable experience. Hotel set in beautiful surroundings only a couple of minutes from the main town but tucked away in a lovely picturesque quiet street. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent. Breakfast was served up by owners father who was a great character. The only small... More
