A great welcome in a hotel that is loaded with antiques and memories from the past. The owner gives you a warm welcome feeling and takes you back in history. A beautifull breakfast room, a pity that we could not dine there

We had a very warm welcome from John who encouraged us to sit on the veranda and relax with a drink before registering. He had very kindly reserved stable for us at a very good local restaurant for dinner. Our room was comfortable, withe plenty of space and a small private patio. The door to the patio was difficult to...

We spent one night t Kingna Lodge in November 2016 and couldn't have been more satisfied. The owner welcomed us with a cold beer after a long drive while he sorted out a mixup with our booking that was caused by the booking agent. The room was beautiful, we had the suite, breakfast excellent and our hosts booked us into...

A wonderful historic place to stay in Montagu with a very helpful and welcoming host. The house is located more or less in the middle of Montagu with a beautiful garden with many flowers around. The breakfast is very opulent served in the historic dining room. The veranda is a wonderful place to chill and the rooms have a private...

We were very happy to stay with John. Sitting on the Terrasse with a glas wine, staying in a castlelike bedroom, spending time in the beautiful garden, receiving John1s aid with planning the next day on tour, all was very warm and present. Nelson Mandela was here as well! One should not miss John´s house if one Comes across montagu.

John is a gracious and warm host and welcomed our group of 10 BMW GS Bikers with free drinks of our choice. The whole lodge and rooms are very tastefully decorated with interesting and beautiful antiques. John arranged for us for dinner, walking distance away at Ye Olde Tavern, which is also highly recommended. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and...

On arrival we were very warmly welcomed by John & his cats with cold beer & wine! The Victorian House is furnished with all sorts of fascinating quirky items and has quite a history. We were lucky enough to sleep in the same room that Nelson Mandela once slept in! A great nights sleep was had followed by a breakfast...

What an awesome experience. Service was phenomenal and the history tour was really special. Very helpful and friendly staff. Beautiful decor. We will definitely be back. Had a peaceful rest and woke up to an amazing breakfast. If you ever pass Montagu you definitely have to give these guys a try.

Spent just a single night here but it was a delight. The owners are very hospitable. The house is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. It feels very secure. The rooms are large and comfortable. The breakfast excellent. Highly recommended.
