I cannot say enough about the owners, Mike and Linda, and the staff. They were fabulous and accommodating! The views from the roof top decks was spectacular. The grounds are well kept and full of greenery and colour. Our unit was clean, beds were comfy. The rooms were typical Caribbean decor (not modern and flashy) and that is the charm! This is the perfect spot to just get away from it all and relax with coffee on your own private deck in the morning and dinner and drinks in the evening. A great little beach bar next door and a great selection of restaurants in nearby Hopkins. Loved it and would definitely go back!
What a great place to stay - staff are amazing, anything you need they are on it. Place was clean and the views from the villas are beautiful. Nice quiet location location just a short drive into Hopkins.
My husband and I booked last minute and were so grateful we did! Both Denny and Kathleen were so gracious from the beginning throughout our stay! The view to the beach is amazing, hummingbirds sat with us in the morning, mangos restaurant next door has great food and vibe, and grounds are cleaned daily. If you’re looking for a place where you can have your own space yet a common pool area to meet other travelers, this is a great choice. The rooms need updating but we weren’t In our room much so it didn’t matter. We left feeling rested and relaxed! Thank you- we will be back!
First of all, all the staff and our hosts, Kathleen and Denny, get 5 stars. We had reserved a 2 bedroom unit for 3 weeks through VRBO based on the pictures and descriptions listed, and wanting to be in central Belize. Our dealings with the owner Linda, were great relating to our booking. The property itself, pool, and beachfront are beautiful, with the ocean just a few steps away. However the units definitely need updating. Our unit required a new AC unit and the staff were great getting a new one installed. The bedroom AC was quite old and noisy. Very little water pressure in the shower. There were not many units booked while we were there. The bar next door, Mangos, was great and we enjoyed it. Property is quite far from the village and the dirt road was terrible most…
We were the only people at the resort the entire time we were there, making it feel like everything was "private". All of the staff was friendly and accommodating, especially Epi. When the office was closed for the night, there was always a night watchman around if we needed anything. Epi went out of his way to make us comfortable and give us whatever we wanted. Previous posts about this resort state "only 1 of the 3 pools were working". There is 1 main pool, which we enjoyed thoroughly. The other two "pools" are actually spill over areas for when the heavy rains come. The ocean was very warm and tranquil. The only con I have is the sand fleas, which is a common problem throughout Belize. The resort does spray for them, but it's a losing battle. Bring baby oil or Skin So Soft…
I wished I had looked at reviews on this site before booking here. Disappointment happens when expectations and reality are very different. I reserved this place through VRBO, where it was described as a condo. Interesting that on TripAdvisor, they call it a "resort." The pictures on this site as well as HomeAway are at least 10-15 years old, as NOW the property is somewhat dilapidated and only one of 3 pools is functional. We showed up expecting something more like the pics, and an individually owned condo-type place where we would be on our own. Indeed we were the only guests on this property and staying in what appeared to be one of the few rentable condos. But there was a manager there, Epi, as well as about 10 other staff (or family of staff?) playing volleyball on the…
There were pros and cons to this location. The sand fleas were so bad that we really couldn't enjoy the beach or the patio/balconies much at all. Only one of the three pools was operating and we had a lot of ants inside the unit. I would also not classify it as a resort since only a handful of units are in a condition to be rented out and there is not staff there 24 hours a day. Having said that, we loved the location and the views were amazing. The staff that we interacted with was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a good visit. The bar next door was very convenient and had great food, too.
When booking we thought this place would be great. It is not exactly what the pics show. First. one of the pools was not working. 2. It appears the pics are from some time ago because the "resort" could use a face lift. 3. It is not a resort...we stayed for 2 nights and only saw a guy at reception when we first arrived and a gardener on one occasion . There is no pool staff or other...it was like a ghost town. The sand fleas are horrible!!!! We could not even sit outside or hang on the beach. Overall the place was clean but I feel over priced for what you get. We would not book again.
An amazing adventure to be had at Sarkiki Reef Resort!!! We love Hopkins!! Our condo was #8 it's spectacular, spacious, was perfect for our family. We love the owners Mike and Linda they just make everything so perfect. Epi the Resort Manager is the best, we chose to wait to book any excursions prior to arriving, it truly is easier to have Epi reserve excursions when you arrive. He booked my Husbands scuba dive with Seemore diving, the family cave tubing at St. Hermans Blue Hole National Park, our guide was Neiko (he has so much knowledge of the caves, truly amazing) and family snorkeling trip on the barrier reef with Patrick, everything we did went off without a hitch. Epi along with Eldon, Lisa, Rueben, Jason, Randy and Manuel made our stay once again the most amazing 8…
Hopkins was our first stay in Belize and we loved Sarkiki. We wished the road from the village wasn't so horrible, it caused us to stay put at the resort more than we had planned. But, we couldn't have asked for a better place to be at. It was so nice to walk out our front door and have the ocean steps away. The views are amazing. The beach was beautiful but the sand fleas were pretty bad during the mornings when there was no breeze. In the afternoons the wind picked up which kept them away. The water is shallow quite far out which was perfect for our young child. We snorkeled and found large sand dollars everywhere. They have bikes available to ride into town. There is a kayak for use as well. The pool was also nice, but the pool water was colder than the ocean. …
