Although we were a bit older than the average age frequenting this hostel, we had a nice stay. We had a double room with private bath. The room and bed was basic, but clean. No ac, but ceiling fan. The hostel is set back 30 meters from the busy and dusty main road. Beautiful set up with a large decks...

Tranquilo Backpackers is set back from the road, towards the top of town. It is right next to the super market and across the street from the beach access path. It has shared dorms and private rooms to rent, starting at around $14 a night. We stayed in a shared dorm, it was basic with bunk beds, lockers, and fans,...

Stayed here one night with my girlfriend, clean rooms and a helpful staff. Downside is that in comparison with the rest of costa rica it's as double as expensive for what you get. The outside showers and toilets could be a bit cleaner as well. Tasty pancakes, fruit and coffee in the morning!

Stayed here in march in a private room with my friend who I was travelling with - great hostel! The rooms are clean enough, with open air shutters in the bathrooms...obviously this isn't a luxury retreat - showers are basic and mine was cold, not overly clean, but I was expecting that....beds were comfy enough. Nice hammocks to relax in...

Friend and I stayed in dorms here for a few nights. Pros: - cheap - very social atmosphere win friendly staff. - good location near grocery store and beach Cons: - showers were disgusting. One of the worst showers I saw during my 2 week travel of Costa Rica. - toilets dirty. - beds uncomfortable. Consider other options before staying...

I stayed at a few other hostels while in Costa Rica and this was definitely the bottom of the list by far. The beds and pillows were pretty gross; I slept on my towel rather than the pillow because it looked too disgusting. The bathrooms were pretty foul as well... only a few toilet stalls were working in the women's...

This hostel is amazing. The rooms are big enough and the matresses are surprisingly good for a hostel. They are not too thin and I got a good sleep. It can get hot in Santa Teresa but every room is well equipped with one or more fans. Outside there is a common area in the terraces in front of the...

I really liked this hostel. There are dorms with bathroom and dorms with no bathroom (shared bathroom). The rooms are clean, spacious with personal safes and electricity plugs. In the second floor there are duplex rooms, and that provides even more space per person. The staff was kind and very helpful. The best thing about this hostel is the common...

there are different kinds to relax. If you would like drink/smoke (you know!) then this place is very good and you will meet many to give you company. Otherwise, this place is not for you! I stayed here for one night and moved out because I felt out of context here. Staff is friendly and they will also do your...

One of the places I like in Sta Teresa, rooms are great, the kitchen here is one of the best distributed ones and functional I've seen in a hostel. Rooms are very fresh and with a high ceiling they stay cool, also I've seen that some have a hand wash inside which is a very practical feature. I went there...
