As first time guests at a "birding" lodge, my husband and I were beyond pleased by the overall experience. We signed up for a five night stay which included a double room, all meals and one long or two short birding trips per day, plus transportation to and from the lodge with pick ups from and drop offs at Panama...

Pleasant stay for the avid birder, recreational bird watcher or just a person desiring some R&R. Beds are comfortable, site and rooms clean, food is good, attention to details are met by the staff. The birding guides know their areas well. A pleasant stay.

Canopy Lodge didn't disappoint in any way. The experience from arrival till departure 5 days later was fabulous. As Australians, the birds of Panama were a whole new experience and a fabulous one made all the better by having such good and passionate bird tour guides. They took us to different habitats and always knew where to find the birds....

The Canopy Lodge is truly the most beautiful property I have ever stayed at. The grounds were just amazing. I loved the natural swimming pool, tree house and there is a very quaint village in walking distance with cafe's and shops. There is also a zipline feature walking distance. We are birders but the Canopy lodge is an ideal place...

This lodge is set in beautiful grounds with a mountain stream, feeding a natural pool, which just happened to have been undammed and wasn't functioning during our stay but the gardens were a haven of peace and birds of course! There was a tree house so one could get level with birds in the canopy, and feeding stations for humming...

The Canopy Lodge is a beautiful place in El Valle de Anton, site of an extinct volcano crater with jagged peaks and mist. It is adjacent to Cerro Gaital Natural Monument. The grounds include a mountain stream rushing over rocks, trails, lawns for walking amidst tropical flowers, a treehouse, and feeding trays for Panama's colorful birds and mammals such as...

I was part of a birding group that stayed here after staying at the Canopy Tower. I love this location. It is peaceful, serene, great opportunity on the grounds for birding, lovely rooms and views of the stream. Outdoor dining and very good meals! All the staff is helpful and provide great customer service. Carlos was not only our birding...

Staff were simply terrific - great care, great food, very helpful and friendly staff and guides. Rooms were simple, comfortable, clean - and the grounds were beautiful. Best of all was the abundance of birds, butterflies, and wildlife. Guides put out bananas regularly, bringing birds to feeders. Really enjoyed the outdoor commons area - like a big open living room...

Non-birders would enjoy the beautiful grounds, swimming hole, and nearby cultural activities. However my wife and I signed up for the seven day all-inclusive birding package, which costs $400 per person / day during the high season. This is a lot of money, enough to pay for a private trip. It was worth it! We got nearly 250 species, in...

My husband and I booked the 7 night birding package and spent the last four nights here (first three at the Canopy Tower and I wrote a separate review for that). Between both places I saw 237 species of birds and 101 were life birds and we only had six full days of birding. Our guide most of the time...
