We first went at the self service next door , we walked out as it seemed expensive , and not great. What a chance as we then stumbled on this restaurant. You have to book a table to be sure as it can get crowded. The reblochon burger is a best seller. Really tasty with dried tomatoes and sweet onions....

A classic alpine eatery with a concise menu delivering just the right balance of quality and quantity. The prices are reasonable for the region and certainly worth it for the spectacular valley and mountain views. Try the special of the day as these seem to be even better value for money but are equally spectacular.

My family and I spent a long weekend at L'Escale and we were really pleased with the hotel. It was a great value and we would definitely recommend it. It's true the gondola closes early but after a day of skiing we didn't mind an early night.

I stayed here for four nights with a group of friends. The hotel is right on the side of the slopes so excellent for both experienced and beginner skiers. The rooms are basic but comfortable with everything required for a good nights sleep. The breakfasts were lovely and plentiful. Evening dinner was delicious we couldn't have asked for more. We were shown to our table by a very friend waiter. The food was delicious and served quickly. We were not rushed. Excellent stunning views. Will definitely have the steak again. A lovely place to eat whether you are skiing or not as it can be reached by the Super Chatel Gondola.

This is the second lunchtime visit to the restaurant at L'Escale this season and both have been excellent. The restaurant is in a simple set of adjoining rooms with tables covered in faux cowhide tablecloths. The restaurant's strengths can be summed up in two phrases - the friendliness of the staff and the delicious food! Taking the latter first, they...

I will never return to this hotel. The long walk with all the luggage from the car park via the ... to the hotel was hard, but not unexpected as the hotel is located on the mountain. The fact that nothing is organized in the evening to have some fun and that the bar closes at 9.30 is a pity,...

Dear Quintmm, Thank you for your comment about your stay at L'Escale. I understand that you and your friends staying in the same room decided to write diffamatory remarks about L'Escale. All guests must follow the hotel policies, therefore when it is not respected and after you insisted rudely, the only way was to indeed involve the police; you even...

we spent a week skiing in Chatel, and being well looked after by Sarah and her team. This property is the only one in the area that is up on the ski slopes rather than in the village I chose it because we love to stay where we can ski in/ski out You must be back in the lodge before...
