The hotel itself is elegant with spectacular Caldera views and very nicely run by Christos the managing director. Stuff is friendly and always available to assist you and will also help you organise your time in the island to exploit your visit to this unique island to the max. We got a cave room which was really pleasant to the eye and very clean. Stuff was also very cautious due to covid19 wearing masks all of the time and sanitizing the room daily. Our room came at a very fair price making it ideal if you which to enjoy Santorini and not spend crazy amounts of money for no reason whatsoever.

Booked a last minute break at this hotel, 4 nights in a superior room with sea view.

The hotel were fantastic to deal with, quickly responding to my emails about organising airport transfers. When I arrived the staff on reception were truly wonderful, they literally were so helpful. It’s the best service I have ever received at a hotel, genuinely warm hospitality.

I was given a map and shown the best places to visit and the staff were great at suggestions of where to go. They were also able to book tours.

I was shown to my room (120) and the view was breathtaking. I sat in a couple of bars paying €20 plus for a cocktail some nights, but I soon realised I had the best view on the island from my room.

The room was so peaceful, a great spot for reading. I wasn’t overlooked like a lot of hotels I saw on the island, so could happily sit there not being disturbed.

The room was also very spacious with the bathroom downstairs and stairs leading to a seating area and big comfortable bedroom. But it is the view you get that sells this hotel.

My only criticism of the room and it’s probably my personal taste, I wish the hotel provided coffee machines in the room! I never drink instant at home, so would prefer a nice coffee in the room!

Breakfast was wonderful, so much choice. Staff again were so helpful.

I ordered some drinks on room service and they were bought with a smile.

I had the nicest 4 days at this hotel, can’t recommend it enough. Pay the extra for a sea view, it’s well worth it.

Thanks to all the staff at the hotel for a truly great stay, I had a wonderful 4 days, taking away a lifetime of wonderful memories of the hospitality and the amazing views.

If you are looking for an intimate, quiet, private but magical place to stay in Santorini, this is for you! This hotel is only 15 minutes away from the main strip, and a 10 minute walk from the nearby village. It has amazing views of the Caldera and the ocean - other guests we spoke to also couldn't get over these breathtaking views. The food was amazing, the property was so clean. I am so glad we stayed here over Oia, we had such a relaxing time.

The property was clean, quiet, attentive to detail and above all, had a 5 start service. My partner and I couldn't believe how the staff went over and beyond to look after us and help us throughout my trip. The reception staff Katerina, Stella and Andreas were so welcoming and gave great advise throughout - they were always around which made us feel very safe. You guys made our experience, thank you so much!

Our room was very Santorini, a quirky dome shape that had plenty of space. It was cleaned daily, as well as the facilities around the hotel. There was always a member of staff cleaning which was always nice to see.

I'd like to thank waiters Vasilis and Andreas who were always happy to help come lunch and dinner time, as well as needing snacks and drinks around the pool. They were so helpful, always checking on the guests and tidying up around everyone. We felt pampered and truly looked after.

The food here is something that completely surprised us - it was AMAZING! One of my favourite things about it. Everything on the menu was completely unique and had an unforgettable taste. This is all thanks to the wonderful Chef Angelo. Make sure to have as many meals as possible here!

Thank you to the staff. You make this hotel what it is!

This is a really nice hotel in a super location on the edge of Firostefani. In normal times I would definitely give it four stars however in the COVID world it is just a B and B. The restaurant and pool bar are both closed and you are given no warning of this beforehand which is very disappointing. The breakfast is minimal and generally the same from day to day. There are 22 rooms and only five sun beds and six deck chairs so be prepared for sunbed wars. I am sounding a bit over critical because I would definitely stay here again. There is a local cafe that delivers free of charge at cheap prices which gets around the problem of the pool bar being closed. It would have been great if the hotel told you this when you checked in rather than finding out by word of mouth. The views from the room and the pool were outstanding.

We had an amazing stay at Ira Hotel and Spa! We were able to arrange airport pickup through the hotel. Once we arrived we were met with an incredible view and very friendly owners who provided a lot of great information about the location. We were helped to rent a buggy which was dropped off right at the hotel for us. The room had AC, a comfortable bed, and a balcony with a beautiful view. The pool was amazing. I would definitely recommend staying here!!

It was very private, newly renovated
and has an amazing view of the caldera. We stayed in the Master suite with a private balcony and the view was spectacular! We didn't even have to go out to watch the sunset because of the amazing private balcony that we have. We were enjoyed the privacy with the view of the caldera. It was very romantic. Also, the staff were all amazing. Constantina was very accomodating, gave us a little tour and some information about the island which was very nice. We missed breakfast on our first day because we needed to leave early but she made sure that food was provided in our room before we left. Our flight was 8 hours after our checkout from IRA but they let us leave our things and informed us we can still stay and use the facilities if we like. We opted to walk around Fira instead but when we went back to the hotel, they provided us with towels and toiletries so we can have a shower before our flight as it was really very humid and hot. I was really grateful for that. I think they exceeded our expectation. They were very genuine and accomodating which was really a different experience for us because in some other places we can still a subtle discrimination with us being of asian descent. Santorini gave us a really unforgettable experience. x Thank you to the whole staff of IRA hotel.

Not that we didn't like it but climbing and descending from the steps made us a bit out of breath. 3)
Also, the water was overflowing from the shower room but we were informed beforehand so we didn't really mind it.
I wish there was a coffee machine to complete the "posh" experience in our room.

This hotel did not meet our expectations. The location is good, walking distance to Fira and a 15 minute taxi to Oia. The staff was extremely helpful and responsive. Definitely went above and beyond with servicing the guests. The breakfast had many options. The views of Santorini are breathtaking. There are many great attributes to this hotel, but our room was not at all as we expected.

We booked a Sea View Balcony room. Our room was on the pool deck behind the row of lounge chairs. Our "balcony" was a carved out section of the pool deck, again behind the lounge chairs that faced the sea. At all times during the day and into the evening there were people within feet of our room and obstructing the Sea View. It really did not feel safe constantly having people right next to our room knowing when we were going in and out. There was absolutely no privacy, we could not even open our shades let alone go out the "balcony". By no means did our room meet the description of what we booked. We asked to change rooms, but they couldnt accommodate until the third night of our stay and would charge us for an upgrade if we moved. The room was also very old. The shower was rusting and took a long time to heat up. The closets smelled brutally with potpourri, so we did not use them in fear our clothes would smell. Given the room, we would not book this hotel again if we were lucky enough to return to beautiful Santorini.

We had such a lovely stay over 5 night at Ira. We walked A LOT and be prepared for the inclines but the incredible views helped us through it! The hotel is near enough to the action (15/20 mins walk) but far enough for peace and quiet when you get back. There are dozens of cafes and restaurants a few minutes away to grab lovely meals and snacks from if you don’t feel like wandering into Fira. We’d recommend getting quad bikes and exploring the island at your own pace. Chris was wonderful and accommodating. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and helped us to celebrate our first anniversary so it’ll be one we never forget. Thank you Chris!

I am writing this review in the hopes that other travelers will not have to experience a similar situation. My friend and I booked a birthday trip, and our first trip to Greece. We booked this hotel DIRECTLY with the company, not a third party site, which generally makes communication with the hotel about any potential problems seamless. This hotel is extremely expensive and we spent $1000 on our reservation.

We were extremely excited to go and because we had EVERY intention of going, we booked a non-refundable rate. I am, of course, completely aware of the terms and conditions of such a rate, but I also realize that these rates are offered mainly as a way to ensure that travelers from Europe do not simply cancel at the last minute. My friend was coming all the way from the US and had spent over a thousand on her flight as well. We found out the DAY of her flight that she was not being allowed into Greece. This was devastating, especially considering all the money we had spent and that it was my birthday trip. I immediately contacted the hotel and politely explained the situation, days ahead of our reservation date. Again, I fully understand that our rate was non refundable, however, most hotels CAN and DO offer a partial refund, or a voucher, in the case of exceptional circumstances, which this absolutely was! We received a full voucher credit from every other hotel we had booked in Greece.

Instead of demonstrating an ounce of sympathy, understanding and grace, the hotel basically told us we were out of luck. I completely understand that we technically had a non refundable rate, however, we provided all proof that we were not simply cancelling on a whim, that we would even be happy with a voucher for a later date, and that it was an extraordinary circumstance with immigration. They did not in any way show any empathy nor good faith business practices. I informed them that I would ensure to share my experience on every platform available to me via reviews, which is absolutely within my right as a customer. The hotel manager, "Aris Vrakas", who by the way has garnered terrible reviews from other guests, threatened to post my email correspondence with him, and to retaliate via legal methods if I "hurt their business".

I cannot provide a full review of the actual hotel experience as I never got to go, however, if you want to bring your business to a place which is willing to work with its customers and not make a terrible and unexpected situation worse, I highly recommend avoiding this one.

Response from Aris Vrakas, General Manager at Ira Hotel & Spa
Responded Jul 7, 2023
Dear 10kateryna, We would like to thank you for taking the time to post the review of your experience with our property. Please allow me to point out a very important inconsistency on your review. How did you contact our property days prior your arrival day about the problem that your friend faced when you also state that she found out on the day of her travel that she wasn't allowed in Greece? Also note that the price paid for the reserved room was the exact amount that was published on our listing prior to reserving your room and if you thought that this booking was expensive why did you reserve to stay with us? If you agree with the a published price then there is no reason to point out that we are expensive since you paid exactly you agreed with. A posting of just an amount in order to make an impression is not fair as it doesn't state the number of the reserved nights and the type of room reserved. As responsible adults, guests need to make sure that they meet the travel requirements of the countries they visit and this applies to your case as well. The attempt to pass your responsibility to any third party involved, our hotel in this instance, is not correct, since we reserved your room, for the requested dates, in good will making sure that you have understood the terms and conditions of your reservation and securing the promised facilities and services. Our property has no involvement with your inability to meet the travel requirements for the particular trip and we will not accept any responsibility for it. Ira Hotel is only a small property operating seasonally from April to October and we have to secure our income and financial existence. Your actions and pressure to cancel you trip on the day of your arrival, either free of charge would have meant that we wouldn't be able to resell the room reserved resulting to income loss. If we were running for example a clothing store, an item, that it is not sold today can be sold the next and it wouldn't make a difference. A hotel's unsold night cannot be compensated with future sales. On top of the above you were fully aware of the terms and conditions of your reservation to which you voluntarily agreed prior to completing your booking process so the fact that these conditions were in force it is not a fault of our property. Please note that our actions and decisions are not directed of bad reviews threats or even posts by either you or friends of yours in various sites. Kind regards,

Horrid experience overall. Rooms are small, messy, and have many defects (fridge doesn't work, faucet broken, etc). We also booked a King bed online only to find out they don't have any King beds within the entire hotel. And if you think breakfast is included with your accommodations as advertised, read the fine print, they will charge you $20 per person on your first day. Total scam and misleading marketing. Avoid this hotel if you can

Everyone I spoke to at the hotel was kind and always tried to accommodate our requests. The hotel grounds are not very large at all since it is an island. For most of the hotels on the island it’s the same issue(property size)Every room is centrally located and close to the amenities they have to offer. I hope that helps.
