Visited for a night while hiking along the Amalfi Coast from Salerno.
Great communication from owner.
Easy to access town one beach by steps at side of property.
Room was spotless and comfortable. With the best view.
Highly recommend.

Initially, we were concerned that the steps up to the B&B would be too steep for us, but this was not the case. Both the route into the tiny town and that down to the beach were very manageable. Also, the property is convenient for catching the bus along the Amalfi coast. Cetara has considerable charm and this quality is echoed by B&B Mara. Our room was comfortable and clean and the view from the balcony over the harbour below was delightful. Breakfast was very good and we enjoyed the cheese omelette made especially for us. One very minor fault was that we had a kettle in the room, but only one teabag and no coffee or milk. In all important respects, this is a lovely place to stay.

We stay BBmara for two nights, and it is the best decision I made to choose this hotel. We booked a 3p sea view room even we are two people because this room is the biggest one with a fantastic sea view. The room is spacious and clean, with a huge bathroom. Everything you need almost equipped in the room. The small fridge with very cheap paid drink is very lovely. The breakfast is so nice with good coffee. The host Mara is very nice and helpful for any questions and really quick to respond your questions. Strongly recommended!

The location is stunning, the property is tired but comfortable - however the customer service is terrible. Covid seems to have turned this property into a youth hostel, with instructions everywhere telling you what you can and can’t do. Oh and you can’t leave you bags before check in or after check out - but they won’t tell you that until you need it. It doesn’t feel safe, it feels officious and cold. Don’t expect any kind of welcome or any kind of breakfast (for the same price). Do expect lots of long generic emails with lists of instructions, possibly even with other guests names in them by mistake. For the owners, Covid appears to be an opportunity to make the same money with far less effort. We wish we had spent our money with an establishment that cares.

Mara and her grandmother are the loveliest hosts. The seaview room has a wonderful view with a nice balcony to sit and soak up the sun. The room has everything you need, and is such great value. Everything about this b and b is great and we are looking forward to our next stay.

The property is a little hard to find because it is just part of another building and it has only a small sign at the entrance. The signs placed in Cetara bring you near the building, but you have to turn around to see the entrance.
Rooms are spacious, with clean and well equipped bathroom (the shower cabin is big), there is even a bidet, you get 3 types of towels for each person. Our room had a small balcony with a fantastic view over the small local port. We had hair dryer, flat TV, air conditioning and refrigerator, wi-fi, all best quality.
The single thing we didn't like too much was that the doors (entrance in the room and the bathroom door) had big part of glass. Even if matted, there was a sensation of extra exposure... especially when using the bathroom. And the balcony door had no blinds, only some light drapes, so the light filled the room at first hour.
The breakfast is typical for that zone. We got cupcakes, cake and other sweets, but only an small omelette. I prefer to eat cold meats and various cheese in the morning, the breakfast was too small for me. Of course, we received coffee, tea, juice, etc.
Mara is a fantastic person, very nice and eager to help. And her helper - a nice old lady - was our kind of grandma :).
In order to reach the centre of Cetara, you need to go down some steps (like 3 floors) and go along the road for 2-3 minutes, because there is no room for a sidewalk. So, count your wine before going back :p

Perfeto! We had been unsure about booking somewhere direct like this but it couldn't have worked out better. The apartment itself is fantastic. The room we had was great. The views from the patio are stunning and having breakfast with that view is amazing. As to Mara herself, she couldn't have done more for us. And I wanted to take her Nonna home with me!
And it's only a few minutes walk down into the centre of Cetara itself. Which turned out to be exactly like it says it is - a little old fashioned fishing village! But still with friendly bars to sit in on the front and watch the World go by and 3 fine dining restaurants to choose from for dinner. It's the perfect balance of traditional and tourist. If, like us, you want to visit the Amalfi Coast but without the crowds, this is the place to go.
I've always been reticent in the past to go back to somewhere but we'll certainly be going back to Mara's. It's a little bit of Heaven!:0)

The B&B is adorable and charming. It is new, and very clean. Our room was modern and spotless with a large balcony overlooking Cetara. The bathroom was very large and modern. Breakfast was included and served on a lovely terrace overlooking the waterfront of Cetara. Croissants, sandwiches, cake and cookies, and juices and coffee. Perfect. Mara was always on hand to answer questions. It was very easy to walk to town via the stairway that leads to the beach.

If you are looking for a base from which to explore the Amalfi Coast, Cetara is it. And if you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay with great hosts and a wonderful view, B&B Mara is the place to go.

Cetara is a quiet and authentic fishing village with great restaurants and easy access by bus or ferry to anyplace you wish to visit on the coast. Non-touristy, it is a pleasant change from the hustle and bustle of the beautiful but busy Positano and Amalfi. If you were looking for a place to settle after retirement, and you were choosing southern Italy as your destination, this would be the choice.

The b&b is right in the heart of the town (walk everywhere)and overlooks the church, the harbor and the sea. Mara and her grandmother provide a terrific experience for their guests. It is a treat to start the day with breakfast on the stone terrace overlooking the sea and the town. Enjoy an assortment of yogurts, cereals, baked goods, meats and cheese, highlighted by Nonna’s croissants, cappuccino, and omelets.

We loved Cetara and we loved B&B Mara. Will we return! Absolutely! Should you go? Without a doubt!

It’s not that common to have an image of where you’re staying and for it to match so precisely the impression you carry with you from seeing photos etc, but that’s what happened here. We stayed in the green room, and it’s, well, green, and very tastefully and thoughtfully done too (really good shower). The balcony looks right down over the beach and harbour, and the fake grass on the balcony is a nice touch. The breakfast was okay (with the option of a freshly cooked two-egg omelette) but nothing more. Mara herself is all smiles and cheerfulness

The only noise we had was from the couple next door, but no problem with noise from the road. The thin walls would not stop me from staying again though, because everything else was so nice, but I would pack earplugs in case you have noisy neighbours! We are very light sleepers!
