Found the staff and service second to none. Room and view was beautiful and very romantic at night. In today's money climate I found the food was fantastic and fresh And value for money. I will come back and recommend to my friends.

We have just returned from an express coach holiday with Shearings which was very good. The hotel was very good value for money and the all inclusive package included three meals and all drinks. The food was excellent and mostly cooked fresh. I would recommend the daily fish dish which was as good as any fish meal I have enjoyed,the...

We stayed at this hotel with Shearings. The hotel room was not ready for several hours after it was suposed to be, despite having paid for an upgrade. When we did finally gain access, the room was only superficially cleaned. Behind and under the table, bed and corners, considerable concentrations of dust that could only have accumulated over most of...

The reception staff were extremely rude and impolite, the rooms were cramp and need refurbishing, the food was boring, tea and coffee foul. I was there for five days and would give it a MINUS 5 rating!! A hotel to be avoided at all costs!!

We reserved three nights at this hotel only to find out when we arrived that they were overbooked. We were switched to a "sister hotel" without any choice. Someone from the hotel staff drove us over to the other hotel, which wasn't close to a ferry station. While waiting for our ride, we noticed that the hotel was filled with...

We have just got back from a brilliant week away. Hotel is old style and is big. Staff are always willing to help, we had a few faults needing fixed but they where dealt with quickly. We did not upgrade our room but did upgrade our all inclusive to a gold package so we could drink at all bars after...

Please read the reviews of this hotel and believe the worst of them, food horrible, hygiene not very good, husband had tummy bug, rooms not serviced till after 4pm, bed linen poor , pillows flat, towels thin, drinks watered, staff overworked. Instead of spending money on the lovely Lido they should have spent it on upgrading the rooms and bar...

Stayed here in early May 2014. It appears to have had bad press BUT all things considered my wife and I found it be friendly , tidy and with exceptional food. The chefs worked hard to maintain the standard (we were there for a 14 night), with choices which we defy anyone not to have found some thing suitable to...

This is old traditional hotel located in few historical buildings right on the lakefront in Cadenabbia and absolutely acceptable option in Como. We have chosen it first because of the price cause we planned the short trip to Como very late and we had not so many options at the price lower than 150 EUR per night. Another reason to...

Stayed as a Shearings customer for 1 week. I have read many of the previous reviews and would comment as follows Plus points on hotel Situation good for boat, road train and bus.
