A couple of years ago I visited this hotel. From Denmark, we had booked a nice and large room with balcony, but when we came they told us that they had sold out the rooms and we got an employee room instead. That is not acceptable. Otherwise, the hotel is great. Great pool, great bar and overall great staff. It is located by the lakeside and has a stunning view.

This hotel is situated right next to Lake Como in Cadenabbia and the views across the lake are just beautiful. We stayed here whilst on a Riviera Travel tour of Lake Como. The room was spacious and was kept meticulously clean each day by the excellent housekeeping staff. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the buffet style starters and desserts. The staff in the restaurant were friendly, efficient and very helpful. We found all of the staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is very well managed. I would recommend this hotel as we enjoyed our stay here very much indeed. Thank you.

We stayed for a week at the beginning of October via Riviera Travel. A grand hotel of yesteryear that has been upgraded to a modern standard. Our room with its balcony overlooked the lake and the mountains opposite. No evidence of end of season blues here.

Despite the numbers of guests at mealtimes, the service was good and the staff courteous and charming. Having 270 people arrive for dinner in a 20 minute period tested the kitchen team but they weathered the storm well, waiting staff smiling as they rushed about seating guests and fetching drinks. The hors d'euve buffet at dinner can be a bun fight with Brits queuing calmly while the other nations just pile in.

There are lovely views across the lake from the bar and restaurant. Ideally located for exploring Como by boat.

Did I mention that the staff are first class?
Thank James O

My wife and I have recently stayed at this hotel for 7 nights as part of a holiday tour. We found the hotel to be excellent. The hotel is very grand and furnished to a high standard. The staff work very hard and are a credit to the hotel management. On the Saturday night of our stay there was a large wedding, but the staff, including the kitchen staff, coped extremely well and we only experienced a slight inconvenience having to dine at a set time but were treated to free wine! Our room was at the side of the hotel overlooking the garden and pool and was nice and quiet on the second floor close to the lift. The dining room on the 5th floor with large windows was lovely especially in the morning when you could look out at the lake. We also liked the outside terrace which we dined on a couple of times at night thanks to patio heaters.

Our lasting memory of this hotel is of the hard working and cheerful staff in the Dining Room. Always polite, they work their socks off to provide an efficient service.Thank you to Nicoletta, Paulo and especially young Luca who whizzed about doing the work of three people. Regarding the food...breakfast choice was vast and the scrambled egg delicious...huge selection of starters and sweets at dinner often meant we skipped the pasta and main courses which were a bit hit and miss. Wine was 22-25 euros and water 4 euros.
We paid extra for a Lake view room with a tiny balcony. If you leave the door open beware of hornet-like insects !
Other impressions...we enjoyed visits to Como, Lenno's Tuesday market, and Lugano. Avoid Bellagio on a Sunday unless you love crowds and St Moritz by bus is a very long day.

The breakfasts were lovely but didn’t eat there otherwise as was too expensive and ate in a restaurant literally across the road

It takes an hour on the ferry, there is a fast ferry hydrofoil, mainly for commuters. But more expensive. Tourist would find the ferry , more peaceful . Enjoy
