Lovely old farmhouse in the heart of the countryside. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean and a breakfast to die for. Be prepared to spend most of the day saying I shouldn't have eaten so much! Gertie is a passionate cook and takes great pleasure in feeding her guests.

We have just completed cycling around the coast of Ireland and have stayed in over 50 Bed and Breakfasts, the vast majority of which were of a very high standard indeed. Early on our trip we stayed here at Kilcannon House initially for a night, but it was so good we could not leave on schedule and stayed 3 nights....

A comfortable house in quiet countryside, with very welcoming hosts. We chose this house as one of us is a wheelchair user and it offers a ground-floor bedroom, the Carraigeen Room, with a wet room en suite. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately, the hot water supply to the wet room was unreliable due to unresolved plumbing problems; we...

Very conveniently located, close to Dungarvan, Kappagh and Lismore. Gertie and Pat are very friendly and welcoming hosts, great company and first rate cooks, pampering guests from breakfast to dinner. Very peaceful location in the middle of the country-side. Large well-appointed bedrooms, charming decoration, comfortable beds, good bathrooms and shower.

I stayed here with my boyfriend in July on the recommendation of a family member. I had an event in Dungarvan so my boyfriend went ahead to check us in and I arrived late (22.00). On arrival Gertie greeted us with much needed nespresso coffee and homemade biscuits! Our room was very large with a view of the pretty garden...

I stayed here for 2 nights after Christmas. I had read some great reviews but it's fair to say the place surpassed my expectations. Gertie and Pat are fantastic hosts. On arrival we were treated to some of Gertie's homemade mulled elder flour. Breakfast was a real treat. Gertie presented us with a menu of options..her special porridge recipe was...

Like a reviewer below I also picked Kilcannon House for it's location near to Dungarvan, Lismore and Youghal, and it was an excellent choice. Gertie and Pat's farmhouse is down a country lane, ensuring peace and quiet day and night. There are two large and comfortable bedrooms, each with a large and spotlessly clean en suite bathroom with shower. The...

We have visited Ireland three times and have stayed at approx 15 B&B's there. Our night at Pat and Gerties turned out to be the most special of any place we have stayed.
