I found this little piece of heaven online and have never looked back, what a treasure to find, we have stayed here on numerous occasions. Joan, the lady of the house makes you feel like you are part of the family from the moment she opens the door, after a long trip from Dublin, climbing into one of her beautiful...

What a wonderful stay we had with Joan and Emmett. We were made to feel so welcome, we wish we were able to stay much longer than one night. The house was fantastic, we had a great sleep in a very comfortable quiet room. Joans homemade applepie & coffee on arrival was very much appreciated. The breakfast was out of...

My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of staying with Joan last week for 3 wonderful nights. We had travelled Ireland for two weeks staying in a variety of accommodation and thought we had experienced some good accommodation. However, none came any where near to the quality of both accommodation and the true Irish hospitality as we experienced with...

Booked for 2 nights after reading earlier reviews and was not disappointed. What a wonderful place to stay and what a lovely warm family! We stayed in Lady Mary's room (comprising the original 16th century tower house) and my goodness, the bed alone was worth trip - its so comfy and huge. The room was elegantly decorated, scrupulously clean, bright...

This is a smart house set away in Waterford's countryside and owned and run by the Nugent family. The house has historic relevance with anecdotes from the Cromwellian wars and about local local dignitaries playing a part in its 400 year story. On arrival we were met by Joan complete with warm handshake, hot tea and a slice of pie!...

Joan & Emmett and their amazing family truly make you feel at home. I can't tell you what an oasis this place seemed after all the chaos and frustration of trying to plan our trip and figure out transportation. You hear a lot of talk about Irish hospitality, and I have to say this wonderful family must be the source!...

If you are looking for Irish hospitality - this is the place to stay. We arrived mid-afternoon to The Castle Country House and was greeted by Joan with a hug and a handshake. Joan was very warm and welcoming - she made us coffee and cookies as soon as we arrived and even offered to drive us into town. The...

Wondering where to stay somewhere near Dungarvan, Co Waterford where I had a day's work, I was looking for an alternative to an identikit modern hotel. A visit to Trip Advisor brought up the Castle Country House which had uniformly warm and positive reviews. How right they were. The house itself is a beautiful old country house (parts of it...

We stayed here as we were attending a birthday party nearby. On arrival we were greeted with tea/ coffe and delicious home made cakes. Joan and Emmett made us feel very welcome and were great hosts during our stay. A great selection of fruit at breakfast and a good choice of hot breakfasts. The house is lovely and very clean....

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful, large b&b with our two grown sons and future daughter-in-law for four nights while exploring the townlands of my ancestors nearby. Emmet, Joan, Emma & Catherine took such good care of us that we hated to leave. Our rooms were gorgeous and absolutely spotless. We had the "Lady Mary Room" which was...

“We stayed in the superior double room, which is the oldest part of the building (with the original 3 foot thick castle walls). It is on the front of the house and is also the most private room and furthest up the stairs. That said, I am sure the rooms are all lovely.”
