Detailed Reviews
Merlstead House has three large rooms and is in a great location near to the seafront at Hornsea. It made a good base for exploring the local area. Mr Moos ice cream parlour at Skipsea is a great treat. We would recommend Whiteheads fish and chips too. The room we stayed in had a side sea view and was enormous with a king size bed, large sofa, dining table and chairs as well as a dressing room area and en-suite. Everything you needed for your stay was provided including cordials, tea, coffee, milk and cereal for breakfast. Comfy bed. Blinds and curtains aided a good night's sleep. Good shower in the en-suite. Easy on street parking. Helpful hosts. We hope to stay again.

We stayed in the King Room (no sea view) everything was perfect for us. The room was large and we appreciated the 2 chairs making it possible to sit and relax, everything was lovely and clean. The bathroom was massive, appreciated the bath as well as a shower. There was no breakfast (ok with us) but cereals, fresh milk, tea, coffee, fruit juices & bottled water provided & topped up daily. Also a small fridge, kettle & hair dryer were provided, musn't forget the bathrobes or Sarah's lovely complimentary lemon drizzle cake (a whole cake !)
We had a very pleasant 3 night stay, Paul & Sarah were the perfect host... they really looked after us.
Parking wasn't a problem.

We had a great 2 night stay. Paul and Sarah are a lovely, very welcoming couple. We were in room 3 and amazed at the size of it and the bathroom. Everything we needed and more. Luckily a fan was provided as we had lovely weather and it was very warm in the room. Also a great thought was the fridge. It was big enough to fit in the cans of pop we had brought with us as well as the provided water, milk and orange juice. Sarah’s lemon drizzle cake was gorgeous. Such a lovely touch. We didn’t have any problem parking and will definitely be back. Location very good, a couple of minutes from the sea front. Thank you Paul and Sarah for a lovely stay in your beautiful home.

First stay this year. Great to be back. Stayed in all 3 rooms before several times over last couple of years. All rooms are excellent accommodation and great value for money with loads of extras including the lemon drizzle cake😋. Back again in July and September.

+1
This house is absolutely stunning, but not just that, it’s also not a far walk from anything you desire, gorgeous beach front, lovely bars (definitely recommend cloud nine and the retro gaming bar!) and loads of places to eat. Lots of thought put in to the decoration of the room, so many little details, and they supply you with anything you would need, including homemade lemon drizzle cake!! Honestly could not recommend staying here more

Well I love to write a review with a few comical errors about a place but the only fault regarding the place was that there was no fault. Lovely hosts, lovely room, two min walk to the sea, pub and the shops. Hosts will let you come and go as you please and will help with any issues whatsoever. I’ll be booking here again in the future

What a lovely place to stay. The house and decor is excellent. Sarah and Paul are just the most loveliest people I have ever met and work so hard to make their guests so welcome.
There is everything you need in the room and more.
And the most amazing treat when you arrive is Sarah’s lemon drizzle cake. Oh my days it’s to die for.
You must plan a visit to Hornsea and stay with them. We had never been before. A quiet little seaside village. Will definitely be having another trip.

Had the weekend at Merlstead House.
The rooms are of a very high standard and spotlessly clean.
The hosts, Paul and Sarah, are very welcoming and always there if you need them.
You won't find anywhere better if you want a quiet and relaxing place to stay.
Our 3rd visit and will still be back again!
