The Victoria hotel offers a mixed bag of experiences, according to guest feedback. Its rooms are generally seen as clean and cozy, though some guests take issue with the deposit policy and occasional subpar conditions. The service is predominantly recognized for its friendliness and efficiency, but it's not without its occasional lapses.
The hotel's atmosphere is widely appreciated, with a recent renovation enhancing its cozy and inviting charm. Amenities, such as the enjoyable Sunday carvery and fresh food, receive compliments, yet opinions on the hotel's value for money vary, with meals being a point of contention for some.

Detailed Reviews
Just home last night from a lovely 2 night stay. The room was spotless and very spacious. I couldn't fault anything. We arrived Friday night and was welcomed by Racheal, what a lovely lady she is. Our room had the usual tea and coffee etc and also biscuits, croissants and jam that was replenished the next morning too. There was also a fridge at the bottom of the corridor full of bottles of cold water to help yourself to which came in very handy due to the very hot weather. We had drinks downstairs both nights and the atmosphere was brilliant with a singer on the Friday night. Absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely be returning (hopefully in November when the Moochers are gigging there) Thankyou so much for a lovely Stay 😊

Blurb says free breakfast, but none offered. I asked the bar staff and they said there should be a basket in my room, no cooked breakfast, no continental breakfast, but a basket.
No basket in room over three nights stay.
Complimentary tea/coffee basket only had two tea bags and not refilled at all. Again, asked bar staff but nothing done.

Having recently moved to the area we decided to try here tonight. Staff very polite, friendly & helpful, well presented. Very good atmosphere and decorated well.
Food was very well presented but we did have some issues with some of the dishes.
The soup was tomato for starter, not sure is was soup to be fair, it was more like a gluppy bowl of something and didnt tatse of tomatoes at all im afraid, portion too big for starters also. It appeared to be made with gelatine or something as it was very weird. I think describing the prawns ascooked 6 ways is a bit misleading as they was all cooked the same but had six different sauces!! But the dish was very well presented, Also the pineapple with the gammon was black on the underneath.
I would eat here again but probably not this menu to be fair. Again everything presented well but just a couple of dodgy issues.

Awful carvery
If you like meat I suggest you don’t go here ! £11.95 is not good value for money, they had a choice of beef, pork, gammon or Turkey, I asked for a slice of each, I was was told by a snotty women, I could only have two slices, I commented to my husband that’s not good value for money, where she replied to me “well meat is expensive”. I choose two slices of beef, which was carved very thinly and did not fill the small plate I had, vegetables were awful, broccoli and carrots rock hard, Yorkshire pudding ok, stuffing balls vey dry and rock hard, could of bounced them off the wall, cabbage and peas in a tray at the front swimming in tepid water so very soggy. Roast potatoes not cooked fresh, frozen type, she even put my gravy on my dinner! Mashed potatoes cold and lumpy, so if you want value for money and good food don’t go there.

Went for a meal at the on site restaurant.Friendly staff. Plenty of choice. We were given complimentary bread and they were trying a new dip with chorizo which was nice but then they put it on our other dishes. We had the scallop starter which was pleasant. We had steaks for main which were nicely cooked with onion ring, chips and salad. Chips were slightly overcooked but overall enjoyed our meal. No room for dessert but had a few flavoured gins.

After a long day out with the wife and kids we were looking for some good food and thought we would try The Victoria as we live local, however we were bitterly disappointed.
Main issues were that firstly my daughter’s kids pizza came and it was still cold in the middle which was clearly frozen and been microwaved. We complained and when returned was warm but clearly they had just put the full plate in the microwave. The consistency of the pizza was stodgy and practically indelible. This set the tone for the full meal!
My wife and I ordered the steak pies however was told they had ran out so my wife went for the Lasagna and I had the burger. My burger was devoid of flavour, barely warm and quite possibly was another microwave special which I gave up on after 2 bites. My wife’s lasagna again seemed to be a microwave ready meal and scooped into a dish, which she struggled to eat. The chips were luke warm but on a positive note, my little girls scampi was hot!
The staff were accommodating when I complained and gave a partial refund for my burger but we left disgruntled that I had still paid £40 for substandard food. Major improvement needed.

We visited during a recent holiday in Hornsea. The food was lovely and staff very friendly. Particularly enjoyed the Sunday carvery, excellent quality meat, really good choice of vegetables and reasonably priced. Would certainly return.

We visited Hornsea for a long weekend and were looking for somewhere to eat on our first day. We had been to The Victoria many years ago but were delighted to be welcomed by the relatively new landlady. We had such a great experience the first night ( the food was amazing and the service by the brilliant Georgia was second to none) that we booked for Saturday evening as we were told it was usually much busier. So glad we did as it was very busy even at 6:30. We were welcomed like old friends which was such an good feeling. My husband had Paella and I chose Scampi. Just to say their home made triple cooked chips are literally to die for!! Also the side salad was really inventive having soft fruits and a delightful piquant dressing. The Paella was full of freshly cooked sea food and spicy chicken with a lovely sauce on the rice and peas base. We were again served by Georgia who was very professional despite having lots of tables to look after. We would highly recommend visiting If you’re in Hornsea worth the visit!

Loved this place! Friendly staff, great food, good value. The chips were amazing, as was the pizza. The kids’ meals could have easily fed an adult. And they didn’t mind that our boys chucked darts at the wall for half an hour.
