I was booked in for a two day conference and first impressions were good. Nice gardens and exterior. The restaurant was good as was the food. The conference facilities were barely adequate. We had to chase for water on the tables and for a projector. The worst part by far are the rooms. They are dark and very dated and...

We visited here in January this year and found the hotel to be a little gem. It was welcoming and cosy with a nice friendly bar. In the morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. We would definitely come here again.

We visit the area often when visiting family. Of all the hotels in the area, this must be the best. Nice gardens, fields either side, nice friendly staff on reception and the restaurant staff. Booked again for 1st October

It's like something from the 70s. Rooms dark and dreary. Bathroom suites belong in a museum. Breakfast appalling. Very little choice and whole thing seems like the cheapest quality was used. Service surly. Don't go there - it's overpriced too.

Stayed there on 31st of July as a friend was having his daughters christening. The rooms are a bit dated but that was to be expected as I went through trip advisor and a lot of people said so. My real only gripe is the fact is that it was meant to be a buffet breakfast only to be told...

We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch at Grimstocks recently. From being welcomed by the Owner to the delicious food, everything was superb. We had two courses and couldn't eat anymore as we were so full! The staff are very courteous and friendly and the setting is beautiful. You could even have coffee in the garden if the weather is good....

The Grimstock is not some flashy corporate 'I could be anywhere' place to stay. It has character, the rooms are not particularly up to date but they are fine and comfortable and the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. If you prefer a faceless Hilton it is probably not for you but I have been here many times for a...

The grounds are beautiful, lulling you into a false sense of security.... Once inside you can see how dated the building is. Not in a quaint, full of character manner, more of a cross between an old people's home and a 1980s hotel abroad that hasn't been updated since then. My room was on the ground floor - some blinds/voile...

The outside of the hotel looks welcoming, the grounds peacful, resteraunt well laid out. BUT the rooms are outdated & are in diar need of a makeover. The room was noisy, from outside noise and there was a constant noise which to describe it was either like flushing the loo & filling up or turning a hair dryer on and...
