We stayed 2 nights at the Coast Oliver Hotel. We were assigned a Handicap Room although it was not a personal need for us. I would like to say having a background in health care I was impressed as to how the room would be very suitable to someone who requires assistance. For ourselves one chair at the desk and sitting on the bed was not acceptable and when inquiring if another chair could be provided we were informed that this was not hotel policy and only one chair for each room is in place. We were fortunate in that we spent little time in the room, as it was not a relaxing environment. There was also a struggle getting the wireless connection but help was available at the front desk. The room itself was clean. Breakfast was buffet style and satisfactory. The location is good.
We have stayed at this hotel 3 times, and I have written a review for this hotel before. I don’t think I rated it for accessibility. This hotel gets an “A”. Being an above knee amputee it’s important that I can get around easily with or without my leg. The hotel itself is easy to get around, though I haven’t tried to get in the pool. I have been in two different fully accessible rooms and both have been great. The rooms are easy to move around and the bathroom is very good. All staff we have met are friendly and helpful.
This was definitely not a 4.3 star experience. The room's presentation and bedcovering was reasonable, the bathroom door handle was broken, the water in the shower wouldn't heat up and the towels were incredible hard. I felt like I paid way too much and this was not the experience I was anticipating.
Nice new hotel close to business district. Friendly staff. Quiet, close to small park and next to great paved walking trail along the canal. Nice breakfast and coffee. Great community. Handicap friendly. Many local wineries, ski Hill and golf courses within close proximity.
The only complaint I have, is that the following morning of my first night, someone let themselves into my room, un-announced while I was still in bed. Not sure who or why. There were no "do not disturb" door signs made available if you wanted privacy.
Nice rooms, but fridge had not been cleaned (there was old food and beer in it!). The coffee machine was there, but no coffee, cups, glasses, sugar, etc. The bed linen looked a bit wrinkled but seemed clean when I pulled down the sheets. The front desk person was very helpful but obviously overworked. When I tried to call the front desk, the phone was not answered, so I had to physically go down and request the missing items. Breakfast was your usual free hotel fare: eggs looked (and tasted) like plastic frisbees, but the sausage and hash browns were good. Still, for Oliver, this is the best choice.
Not the cleanest Hotel when the building is brand new. Fond dirty bed sheets on the first day. Garbage left in the hallway more than 2 days. Room not being cleaned more than 7 days. Housekeeping does not work over the weekends
We entered Canada at the Osoyoos Board crossing on January 7 as the mountain passes were closed in Washington State. BC Highway 3 was also closed by the time we got to the border. We decided to stay at the Coast Hotel in Oliver until Highway 3 reopened. It was a great decision. Even though we were only there one night, the hotel was great and walking around snowy, sunny Oliver on January 8 was great too. The Front Desk staff were very understanding and accommodating, allowing us to delay our check-out until early afternoon to wait for the Highway 3 update on DriveBC. The room was clean and the room and premises felt COVID safe.
It was off season and decently priced. Friendly staff! Room felt bare and empty but simple. Being that we booked a pet friendly room, I made the mistake of looking under the beds. I found handfulls of animal hair that look like it had not been slept out in months. It happens I suppose. Then in the morning I went to make myself coffee, the machine wouldnt work properly giving me only 1/4 of a cup even though I filled the machine up with water. Then went for a shower and the tub backed up water to my ankles. I looked in the drain and found SO much hair was blocking the drain and could have been noticed by the cleaning staff while cleaning the tub. I was starting to get annoyed and decided to approach the front desk with these issues. They wrote them down and explained that their value wasn't working properly and couldn't reach under the beds. I was a bit confused because it was as if the cleaning staff didn't even try that hard. - I'd also found an old sock under the other bed. She told me that they could take care of it while we left for the day, but I said not to worry about it until the next time day when we checked out. They also apparently only had one cleaner for the whole building.. which wasn't enough. Being that I'm a cleaner at a different resort, I was disappointed with the level of cleaning.. yet understood. The positives are that the beds are AMAZING!!! the staff is friendly, the breakfast in the lobby kitchen is great, the maintenance man we ran into was friendly and happy even though he was picking up people's cigarette butts outside.. he didn't seem to be bothered and was glad to be outside. …
Will be booking again and recommending to friends and family! Front desk ladies were fabulous. Very friendly, accommodating, helpful, knowledgeable, personable, professional, and all around great. The rooms, pool area, eating area, were all clean. I felt very welcome and safe. I am impressed with the level of great service and I can't wait to support this hotel again. We are booking again in June 2022. Expectations were succeeded from myself, friends, and family, my party of 10 people were very impressed. No disappointments. Thanks so much!
