We had a great experience at this hotel. The staff accommodated our request for two beds despite us accidentally not booking this. We had some noise outside the rooms from a group of motorcyclist traveling together on one of the nights we were there, however it was only one night.

I appreciated how clean and fresh the room was and how the proprietor was accommodating and friendly towards us. We always had a cheery hello from the staff every time they saw us.

And, I'm very sorry to see negative reviews from the motorcycle group who were there the same weekend: these are strange times with COVID-19 and we all have to get along and be kind to each other. It's too bad that there was conversation outside our door until 11pm from this other group and that it interrupted our sleep after an exhausting and very hot day, but that's the nature of a motel unfortunately.

We did use the little courtyard picnic area for breakfast and made dinner at the barbecues one of our evenings. That was a very nice plus!

I do recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again if I'm in the area! A little kindness goes a long way and the staff were very pleasant to us especially given our mistake in booking!

We enjoyed our two nights at Cactis Tree Inn. The place was very clean and quiet. The staff were very helpful. This place was all we needed for a great price. It is right in the middle of wine country!! The kitchenette was convenient for breakfast or getting a light lunch or dinner together. Would definitely recommend it to family or friends and would go back again if in the area.

Be sure to visit the District Wine Village on the outskirts of Oliver.

The bed was very comfortable. The place was clean & well maintained. Nice there was a salt water pool & bbq's if you wanted to cook on.
The owner was very helpful in suggesting places to eat at which proved to be very true!

Travelling with a motorcycle group. All of us are professional retirees. They refused to answer questions walking away when asked stating “just look at your form I gave you”, denied a room to one couple in our group when the wrong date was booked even after checking on line that rooms were still available, and were rude every time approached. Breakfast was limited, it was served and they limited amounts to our group specifically when they gave much more to any others staying at their Inn. Advised to quiet down at 10pm on Sat evening, even though there was only 3 outside a room having a quiet conversation. Disrespectful. Will not be returning to this place.
Overpriced for room and amenities...even for this location.
Not recommended and will be advising friends and associates. Do not pay your money just to be insulted.

They insisted they had a 30 day cancellation policy and billed us accordingly. This was in spite of my finding a 48 hour cancellation policy (they said it was the previous owner's policy). In addition the mayor of Oliver asked tourists to stay away to accommodate wildfire evacuees, at the time of our trying to cancel our booking there was very bad smoke conditions (I am asthmatic) I also pointed out they had no posted cancellation policy on their website. I felt they were very unreasonable and didn't take anything I said into account. Given this was the height of tourist season, I think 3 weeks notice of cancellation was more than reasonable and that we shouldn't have been charged.

Arrived at the hotel as a large group after a long day in heat. So was very tired and looking forward to relaxing. The hotel only accepts bookings through website. Though I am proficient I booked wrong date and was told I had been charged for a no show. No phone call about no show.

I asked if we could get same price as the group and was told no. The price for only room left was going to be higher. I was upset but decided to go outside and look for another location. On the internet Oliver did not have many rooms left and it did show a room at the Cactus for $159. We thought the representative had said tax included $180. So we showed her the listing and was told that is what she had told us $159 plus tax. Masks .... I don’t know. So I went into the office to pay for room and was told that I needed to apologize to her. They had a choice not to rent me a room. Well I am not a three year old and refused to apologize. Being in the service industry for 30 years I know there is always a little give and take. But not at this hotel, when I refused to apologize she turned her back on me and walked away. Kept coming outside while we told our group we were not staying. She wanted to make sure we left the premises. Hence customer service a zero. Can’t say anything about the rooms as I never saw it. Don’t know about breakfast either

Feels like the people who own the place don't really want to be there. Check in was slow (yes, we were a large group but it wasn't like they didn't know we were coming!). A couple in our group had an issue with their reservation. No matter what, the representative seemed to refuse to help, stating there were no rooms available. Suddenly, a room came up! Rate was significantly higher than advertised online. Refused to honour the online price. Very upsetting. The couple left and stayed at another location. Others had asked on reservation if their credit card would be charged. They were assured not. Later found that charges had been made before arrival. Room was nice but had a heavy antiseptic smell, almost nauseating. I understand about Covid but no other places were like this. The walls are paper thin, could hear every grunt, groan and the tv. The pool was very nice and clean and refreshing. Overall, staff was very rude. Our group will NOT be staying there again.

Rather than try to accommodate they became adverse serial resulting in a couple leaving that hotel and going to another one in the area.
Later in the evening the owner approached myself and a group of others about noise prior to 11 PM even though we were speaking in a normal voice and we’re fairly quiet
Then at 11 PM the owner approached was extremely rude adversarial and confrontational. Interrupted conversations several times. This was more like a prison than a hotel.

From the outside it looks nice but that is where it ends. The photos look so nice but that was NOT my experience.

The room smelled stale like cigarettes. There was a large wet spot on the carpet. The bathroom door did not close because the toilet was in the way. The toilet was dirty, the grout was filthy, the bath tub had a dark soiled ring. The bed was like sleeping on cardboard and the sheets were thin.

There were cups you had to wash which is cringy. How is it sanitary to have mugs other people washed by hand?

The staff were friendly, the sheets were decent. But how on earth do you charge $200 a night?

The Managers at Cactus Tree Inn provided outstanding service and hospitality. This hotel allows pets, so we were pleased they were able to accommodate us. We were even more pleased to find the room was super clean. The beds were comfy and they had extra pillows and blankets in the room. They also stocked extra towels! Their pool is clean and they even provide some air filled pool floaties. They checked daily on us via text to ensure we had everything we needed. Truly above and beyond. We will be back. 5 stars for cleanliness and service.
