What a little gem. We stayed in one of the suites that used to be in the reception/dining room area of the old Mooswa resort.
We were very pleased with our stay. Overall Mooswa has very well kept units and property that includes all the amenities and supplies that one would need for a home away from home. The only thing the unit didn’t come with was firewood and the WiFi didn’t work for us but I wouldn’t expect it on this type of vacation. Apparently the WiFi works well by the reception area but I didn’t bother trying. The pool was heated very warm and includes a separate shallow area for young children. Each unit has its own private deck and fire pit area and you can trade in towels and get extra supplies (toilet paper, garbage bags, etc) as needed from reception. Our unit also had keyless entry. The proximity of the units to the pool is excellent in that it is a few short steps from each unit. It is a very family and pet friendly environment and the quiet hours are good. The owners did a good job of promptly dealing with any noise incidents (there was only 2 minor ones during our stay). The units are also very soundproof - we hardly heard a peep of anything except from the bedroom facing the pool area.
The new owners are very friendly and are doing a great job! Keep up the great work - we look forward to hopefully returning next year if we can snag a reservation again!

We stayed at this hotel as part of our family trip to Wasagaming, an annual visit. The location is a little further from the town centre but still close enough to easily walk to all the shops and restaurants.
Our family loved the pool and the fact that you could walk up and go for a swim, right out the front door. Downside to stay may have been a little lack of privacy or space in the patio areas out front of the room, but we made friends with most of our neighbours so it was not a huge issue. Overall we really enjoyed our room and stay. Free DVDs helped fill in what we did not bring for those rainy days. Definitely a great and relaxing stay, the pool was a huge plus!

We stay at Mooswa almost every year. They have a variety of cabins, some quite old and some very modern. The prices are in line with other resorts and you are in easy walking distance from down town. Recent new owners are in place and things seem to be running smooth. There is lots of outdoor play space for your smaller children and ample fire pits and bbqs. My kids absolutely love spending the weekend at Mooswa resort.

Tried to book 5 days in June online. No where in their website do you see rates or dates for high and low season. The only time you find out the price is when you put in your days and it gives you a price and you hit reserve. We'll, beware because the owners change the price higher after the fact. Tried to tell me that because I was staying 5 nights they had to up the price. The price you are shown at time of reservation should be the price you pay. If they don't like it they should upgrade their site to first tell you the prices and when you book it they should make sure it tells you the right price. Not a good way to run a business.

My small family and I make an annual trip out to Clear Lake after the September long weekend for a few days. Our accomodations have always been top notch and enjoyable. The owners are very friendly and accomodating. We no longer consider staying anywhere else on these trips. We're actually going Tommorrow!

We rented 2 cabins last week for a planning conference- cabins 332 and 333. The finishing were beautifully done. Everything shiny and new. Cabins were incredibly clean. Each cabin was outfitted in the kitchen with all necessities including a microwave and a dishwasher along with the fridge and deluxe stoves- wish my own kitchen was finished as nicely. Lots of space in the living room areas. Master bedrooms in both cottages were huge. Can't wait to visit this place again. Thanks for an awesome stay.

Stayed in one of the A-frame chalets. Great space for family of 5. The bed in the loft and sofa bed could use an upgrade. Well kept, very clean. Loved having a dishwasher. Owners were friendly and clearly care about their place. Will be back.

This was our second stay here as a large group. We rent 5 cabins at a time. While the rooms were cleaner than last year, a lot could be done to make them cleaner. Our feet were black on the bottom from the dirty floors. Would be nice to have mopped floors and/or cleaned rugs. They were not as dusty as last year but I found spiderwebs on the walls. Could've used a good wall washing. The light above our bathroom sink wasn't working, that should've been corrected while they cleaned. How do you clean properly without light? One of our outside doors didn't always latch, so room wasn't secure. The pool was freezing cold and they refused to turn up the heat. While going for a walk, we noticed other resorts had steaming pools in the evening. Ours never did that. We requested that the pool be warm before our stay as we had 9 children that went swimming. While they still swam, they were freezing cold and didn't stay in long. While the owners are very nice and are working to make parts of the resort nicer, they seem to have forgotten about the rooms they already had.

Response from Mooswa2015, Manager at Mooswa Resort
Responded Sep 6, 2015
Hi There, Sorry you didn't enjoy your visit. Unfortunately, while you were here the pool area was under renovation, and grass hadn't been laid by our new playstructure, and so occasionally we found that children were tracking dust and dirt back into the rooms. We keep our rooms to a high standard, and we regret that our renovations impacted your visit. We are always happy to arrange for extra housekeeping visits for our guests, so please let us know if we can address any concerns during your next stay with us!

We stayed for one week at this "resort". The first problem was that they made an error in our reservation which we had made a year previous and offered no solution to correct it nor an apology. Our cabin was decent though definitely overpriced. It was semi-clean and there was an unpleasant odor in the bathroom. The bed was old and very uncomfortable!!!! The pool area is in need of repair. They are undergoing constant changes to the property and cannot give any useful information as to future bookings. There was a play structure for children that was extremely unsafe. It is hard to believe this place functions at all considering how unprofessional the management is.

Responded Mar 23, 2015
Hi there, As our resort has just undergone extensive renovations for the 2015 season, the old 1960's 'retro' cabins you mention have been removed and replaced by new, 2-story, 3-bedroom luxury forest-view cottages. The playground has also been removed from that area, as it has been entirely re-developed. An exciting new play-area is currently being developed. As a result of our renovations and associated downsizing, we have also needed to prioritise the suites we would have available this year for our long-standing and time-honoured guests, which hopefully explains why we were unable to provide you with a guaranteed confirmation for booking this year. We are sorry we were unable to accommodate your requests, but appreciate your continued desire to stay with us. We do have limited availability this season, but do try calling again and we will do our best to find a suite to suit your needs on your desired dates.

Great location with a pool right out in front of the cabin, off of the deck. The kids spent a ton of time in the pool and at the playground. Everything was clean and walking distance from all amenities.

Yes, it is located in Wasagaming. Everything is a short walk, that is easily done. The walk to the beach is a 5 -10 minute walk depending on how fast you walk. Everything in Wasagaming is within walking distance.
Please see the Mooswa website all prices are listed with a detailed list of what is in the cabin/room with images. It all depends what you are looking for. However, high season(May-Sept) is certainly more expensive than low season (September to May).
