Detailed Reviews
Nestled in the woods, just on the outskirts of Grand Bank you will find this beautifully appointed and well maintained property. The hosts are really nice, very welcoming, very informative about their property and the goings-on in town. Really quite a relief to speak with them and know that there is so much on the go.
I loved the gardens full of daffodils and flowering bushes, the fenced garden was so inspiring and provides a bounty. The evening fire and chat with Donna was also a highlight. And then there was breakfast… what can I say? All the lovingly prepared treats - fresh eggs from their chickens, crispy bacon, buttered toast, were preceded by a perfect fruit salad and fresh tea bun. Great coffee, super company. I will definitely be returning for another stay.
So thankful to have found this beautiful place. If you are looking for a lovely spot, choose Abbie’s Garden B&B. I stayed in ‘the Cottage’. Super comfy bed, really nice bathroom, and extra rooms for a larger travelling group. There is a small kitchen, laundry and powder room, lovely deck to enjoy the evening air.

Everything was perfect. The room was nicely appointed and spotless. Coffee maker, fridge, microwave and laundry facilities were located in a common area. The queen size was very comfortable and the room was very quiet. Prior to bed time, an evening treat (butter tarts) was delivered to the room.
Breakfast was made to order and it was perfect. Homemade tea biscuits were delicious.
Our hostess was delightful. All in all a perfect experience.

Abbie's Garden B & B is a lovely place for a getaway...couples, groups, families!!! Anyone would love it there :) We were a group of six ladies and spent two nights there and really enjoyed ourselves. We did a little sightseeing and visited the Seaman's Museum which was so interesting and beautiful. The acommodations at Abbie's were really modern & clean with lovely duvets & sheets on the beds, nice bathrooms, the gardens beautiful and breakfast was delicious. Breakfast was substantial - fresh fruit, yogurt, scones, pancakes, bacon, eggs, with lots of condiments jams / syrup. Bottomless coffee and tea too. Every evening they had a treat baked for us. Also, each night they took the time to have a 'backyard fire' going and other guests brought their guitars. It was lots of fun. Donna and her Dad Bruce work very hard in making this place a 5 star location!!!

Abbie’s bnb is a great place to stay. Central to Grand Bank area which allowed us easy access to the local attractions.
The cottage had very comfortable beds, bathroom with available toiletries, a quaint sitting area/kitchen. Keurig coffee was supplied with milk and cream.
Breakfast was included and it was absolutely amazing. Donna had prepared our table set for 4. She personally prepared, cooked and served us fresh baked tea biscuits, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, eggs, pancakes, sausage and bacon. A filling and delicious meal.
We spent an evening around the fire listening to Bruce relive stories of the area and enjoying his gift of fresh baked apple pie.
Thank you for your hospitality,
Peter, Michelle, John, and Finn

We generally stay in full service hotels; however, in Newfoundland we had no option but to stay in B and B’s in several locations. This property was without question the nicest of any we visited. First of all, the owner, Donna, greets you and treats you like family. She was extremely knowledgeable about the area and provided whatever we needed. The room was in excellent condition with every detail covered. Lighting in the bathroom was perfect, heating controls were everywhere, bathroom fixtures were up to date and functioned properly. Unlimited coffee, tea and drinks were available just outside our door, as were laundry facilities. We were offered dessert before bedtime, yummy butter tarts.
Donna served breakfast in the main house and you could have whatever you wanted. Her homemade cheddar tea biscuits were particularly delicious.
This property is like a verdant oasis in the middle of a barren landscape. It’s the perfect jumping off spot for travel to Saint Pierre or for a restful getaway. It warrants a special trip.

This is a wonderful B&B. We stayed here 3 nights in September, 2020. Each morning a full delicious breakfast was served. In the evening Bruce or Donna (the owners) delivered scrumptious treats (cinnamon rolls, lemon pie, strawberry short cake). We stayed with friends in a two-room suite that included a kitchenette. There was always lots of pop, coffee and water. This is definitely a top-notch B&B!

+1
When we arrived we were greeted at the gate by Donna and walked through the beautiful and tranquil gardens and if you didn't see some rabbit's you were treated with the sounds of Blue Jays and the chickens. The accommodations were fabulous with scenery of the gardens or watching the sunset from your deck. While you are eating breakfast which is out of this world with eggs you could not get any fresher along with all the fixins strike up a conversation with Donna who is full of information of all the attractions and restaurants all along the coast including hiking trails. It was a wonderful 3 days. I would absolutely recommend Abbies Garden for your stay.

We recently spend two days at Abbies Garden and had a lovely experience. The attention to detail from the welcome card to the evening treat were special touches. The opportunity to gather around an evening fire with the other guests was also a bonus. Donna is a wealth of knowledge on the area and freely shares her knowledge and suggestions. The room, as you would expect, we very comfortable and well appointed. We will return and encourgae others to treat themselves to a stay at Abbies Garden.

Abbie's was one of the highlights of our trip. We were sad that we only stayed one day. Donna and her father, Bruce, run a very cozy B&B where are you treated like family. Our rooms were very cute and comfortable with a full bathroom, washer and dryer. This was very convient and let us do a load of laundry mid-trip.
The who property is surrounded by impeccably manicured English gardens and there are peaceful walking trails through the woods. In the evenings, Donna builds a fire and will bring you a "Newfoundland tea" which is a sweet treat before bed. We got homemade cinnamon rolls. Breakfast at the main house was eggs, bacon, pancakes, yogurt, and fruit.
Donna will even help you make reservations at local restaurants and tell you all the fun things to see in the area. We will definitely be back!

The most relaxing, beautiful, clean and peaceful piece of heaven on the Burin Peninsula. Our second stay here and we will definitely return. Bruce and Donna are outstanding hosts. So genuine and friendly. Each evening a knock on our door with special, complimentary baked treats. Also upon check in a personalized card in our room welcoming us. The breakfasts each morning were fit for a king and made to your specifications anytime between 7 and 10. We couldn’t get into a nearby restaurant for dinner on our first night. Donna suggested we use the BBQ on site, directed us to a grocery store and whatever we needed in dishes, spices, utensils, etc to drop up to the main house and pick up whatever we needed. We enjoyed our BBQ on the beautiful deck overseeing the amazing gardens. Later that evening we were invited to a bonfire. Love this place. We highly recommend and will definitely return. You feel like you are family at Abbie’s Garden
