We just returned from our first camping trip of the year and had the pleasure of staying at Saugeen Riverbank. The sites were full of trees and it felt like you were camping in nature. It is a small, quaint park but has everything you need to keep the kids entertained. We rented tubes and went down the river with the kids. Our kids enjoyed the small catch and release pond and the ladder ball courts. The owners were friendly and amazing and are constantly busy making sure that your experience at their park is the best one possible. Would visit again next time with a group of friends to enjoy the river tubing together.

We came for a long weekend and will stay for a week next year. Shawna, Gary and Linda were great. Stayed on site 55 - spacious private level - great site near River. We spent two days on the Saugeen in our Kayaks with Gary either dropping off or picking up, a great idea and makes for a great trip.

This was our first family camping trip and it won’t be our last at this amazing site. The owners build friendships with everyone more then a camper.
The river is truly amazing and everything is so kid friendly 🙏 thank and see everyone this summer!

Owner Gary was literally jaw dropping rude and ignorant! We, together with another couple, visited today to check out two seasonal lots my friend was advised by Gary through an email were available. The four of us took the afternoon off work to make the 1.5 hour drive up to this campground. Gary provided the gate code when we arrived, and we drove through the park to locate the two sites. We found them. One was okay, the other was horrible. Overall the park was not well maintained and first impressions were not great. Lots of old junk laying around in odd places. But we thought, hey, the price is decent, maybe it’s just junky looking after the long winter and they are doing spring cleaning. After viewing the two lots, we met Gary at his garage to ask him a few questions. We asked if the vacant lots on both sides of the one decent lot were also available, so as friends, if they were, we could be beside each other. His response was, “I’m so busy now I don’t even know. No, they’re not. Maybe they are. The one guy is supposed to be bringing his trailer back but hasn’t yet. I don’t know if they’ve paid yet. I’m really busy. I’d have to check on the computer to see if they’ve paid. I’m so busy right now. I have no idea if they’ve paid”. We said okay, well, what about dogs, we have 3, do you allow only one or two? — which we would completely understand if they had a limit of one or two dogs — very reasonable and expected. He said “if you were to fill out an application right now I’d say no dogs. There’s so many F-ing dogs in here right now, barking all over the place”. We were SHOCKED — since they have listed on their map on their website 7 acre off leash doggy area. And yet this is the response we get? He also lectured us on how you have to look for a seasonal site a year ahead of time, you don’t wait until the last minute. I advised Gary that we were JUST TOLD recently about this park by a friend of a friend and when my friend emailed to ask if you had any sites, you advised her you had two, so that’s why we’re here. Gary’s attitude and the way he spoke to us, two couples in our 50s who had just driven 1.5 hours to see this man’s park, was absolutely shocking and disgusting. From their sweetly written bio on their website about a young couple who have worked in many cities across Canada, and gave up the city life to purchase this park and live in nature, this was COMPLETELY unexpected and shocking. Maybe you’ve made a mistake by buying this park? It’s only been a couple of years and you’re treating potential customers like this? Sounds like you’re burned out already! Maybe move back to your city life because you seemed very frustrated today and certainly do not seem like a kind person. It’s okay to admit you’ve bitten off more than you are capable of handling. Just try to be kinder. Maybe it will work out for you. This is our favourite area to camp in and have visited several parks in this area. This park WILL NOT be one in the future.

We stayed the weekend of August 12th & 13th, 2022 and it was great! Right from check in until we checked out! Linda greeted us warmly and even brought our wood up to our site. The hot tub and sauna was an added bonus!
The dome was spacious with a large room, comfy chairs & a small kitchen! My daughter was in love with the bean bag chairs! The catch & release pond across the way with the 4 snapping turtles was her favourite! They enjoyed a smorgasbord of different foods! Corey took us down for river tubing and it was a great way to spend our Saturday afternoon! It did get very chilly at night and we had trouble getting the pellet stove going and staying on/warm! We will definitely come back!

I'm going to start my review by confessing that this is my first time camping. We stayed here for two nights with friends who camp a lot and they found and booked the campsite.
Its a lovely location - feels quiet and remote but is easily accessible and we had no problems finding it (and I don't know the area at all!). We stayed in tents on lot 66 which is the top field as we were a large group (11 adults, 2 dogs, and 11 kids aged 2-15) but there are lots of smaller spots throughout the site. The staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were good and clean - a small shop where you can buy ice, ice creams and chocolate (the essentials!) and book activities like hiring go carts and rafting down the river (we did it and it was excellent). There is a nice clean shower room (remember to take quarters as its 25c per minute) and flushable bathrooms. And there are several chemical toilets dotted across the site. There is a small play area for kids and there is a fishing pond (complete with three enormous snapping turtles). There is also an area where you can swim in the lake which is really lovely and suitable for all ages. If you need to top up on supplies then its only a short drive to town where we were able to get everything we needed and there are also restaurants and pubs if you wanted to go out.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.
