The hotel is very clean and have some great amenities including a great fitness room, small pool and breakfast. Location is centralize and close to cottage county and beaches. Free parking and lots of parking space.

I have been to this property many times over the last few years.
It always stood out , despite being a premium price for a mediocre location, their service and cleanliness was exceptional and worth it. They also had one of the best included breakfasts of any hotel I had been to. They openly stated once they built that into their price. While there were buffet options, there was a chef should would make fresh to order eggs etc.
The one thing that hasn’t changed here is the price.
They are still high for this area. There is no longer a breakfast (they blame Covid of course), the cleanliness is still good but finger prints on the window, mineral build up on the shower faucet, dark liquid spilled on the wall.
They also never have once recognized elite member status, each time telling me that a whirlpool room is ‘sold out’ despite them still being available on the web site. The Best Western in Owen Sound always goes above and beyond to upgrade the room.
While this property is still great, they should be doing a lot more for the price they charge in this location, in my opinion.

I am very surprised that a small town like Walkerton would have a hotel of this calibre! I reserved this hotel for a weeks stay to follow up on some unfinished family business. Upon arriving I was very impressed with the place. It appeared new but was located outside of town in the middle of a small industrial area. It was right across the street from a large OPP station but other than that there really wasn't much else in the vicinity.Upon entering, the lobby was clean and inviting. The desk clerk was welcoming and very polite. He noted that I had the online rate and gave me the hotel's long stay rate instead which saved me about $20/night! Due to the COVID restrictions he explained that the pool was only open to one family at a time.He also explained that while the bar was open, you either had to take your drinks back to your room or drink it outside on the patio. There also was no breakfast buffet provided in the morning but they did provide a "Grab n Go" bag which consisted of a bottle of water, an apple, a muffin, and a Special K bar. There was a coffee station available as well. The hotel did not have a restaurant but did have a selection of frozen soups and entrees available for purchase and every Wednesday they offered a barbecue dinner for the guests. The week I was there you had a choice of maple glazed pork chop ot Korean Beef ribs. Both came with a choice of Caesar or Greek salad, saute peppers and onions and dessert for $24. The manager said that usually they would get 35 to 40 people each week but due to the pandemic there were only 4 of us who enjoyed the meal that week. House keeping was only offered once during my week there which was not a problem for me as I usually don't require my bed to be made for me or my towels changed for me on a daily basis. It would however be nice if they at least emptied the garbage cans daily. The bathroom was clean with plenty of towels available. The bathtub appeared to be extremely shallow compared to my tub at home but considering that I only shower, this was not an issue. Hot water was quick on tap and plentiful. Rather than providing the small bottles of shampoo as other places do, this hotel had large dispensing unit attached to the wall in the tub area but they were empty,probably due to the COVID restrictions in place. The only thing I could complain about was about the TV. I don't know if it was on some sort of sleep timer but it would turn itself off after a while.Most annoying!

We had a great stay here, it was absolutely relaxing, comfortable and welcoming. It was my first time staying at a best western and I was not disappointed. The price at first seemed a little high, but it included a hot breakfast, which was delicious and definitely worth it. My only recommendation is to request housekeeping if you are staying more than one night, otherwise they wont clean the room.

The man at the front desk allowed patrons to sit with him and drink their alcohol (which was supposed to stay in their rooms) until late at night and the parents AND children were yelling until 10pm and running up and down the hallways. I was there alone with my 2 small children and had to call the front desk twice as the noise was outrageous. The man at the front desk was more concerned about the drunk parents being friends with him, than running the hotel. He wouldn't give me my money back and wanted very little to do with the horrible noise complaints. My kids had a hockey tournament early the next morning and we were all kept up until a shift change and a girl came to work the front desk and made the drunk people go back to their rooms. AWFUL

Best Western hostels are by far one of the most comfortable stays for travel/ vacation. However our previous stay we were torn by the announcement front desk said the pool is not available due to private booking for couple hours Saturday evening and again Sunday morning. Best part of staying at a hotel with a pool is the pool. Our primary purpose was to be able to use the pool during our stay with our families. Front desk said the pool was rented by other guests who paid a premium, I was not aware this was an option and cannot find it anywhere on the website/app. It should have been in the description somewhere easily accessible at time of booking.
With not having an option we asked why we couldn’t use pool since we paid for it with our room (Best Western amenity included with our stay). (We booked 5 rooms)Naturally our reaction was very shocked because we have 9 kids that we have to explain why they can’t use the pool. We requested to speak with the manager but the Supervisor interrupted and threatened us to leave instead and that they have the right to rent pool to who they feel and if we didn’t like to leave. Because this was our family Xmas get together we settled so we can have some fun.
Just over all appalling that non paying guests have priority over paying guests. We validated that they were non paying guests because we spoke with users. If this is the norm then perhaps have between 11am-3pm when guests typically are checked out and let it be known at time of booking.

Room was very clean and fresh with lots of towels! Staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast included fresh made omelettes or eggs of choice. Although no restaurant onsite, there was a bar and chef made frozen entrees available. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This hotel is always super clean, has comfortable beds, includes breakfast and has a wonderful staff. The pool is always well maintained and it kind of feels like a home away from home. I have never had a bad stay here.

An exceptionally well run Hotel. All members of the staff were friendly, helpful and very well trained. The staff worked well together, the chef was caring and environmentally concerned and worked well with the staff in charge of breakfast.

Last minute reservation, and it was a great one!
After an Expedia mishap, we were able to get a room at the Best Western Walkerton and have a nice road trip after all.
The lady at the front desk was super nice, was able to pronounce our hometown and we were satisfied with the whirlpool in our room which my husband and I completely took advantage of.
This place was very cleanly and hygienic.
We will be back!
