I had read reviews on this place before going so I knew what I was in for…. With an open mind this place is mediocre at best. It wasn’t quiet or zen-like whatsoever. A lot of the features were closed (barrel sauna for example) or so crowded you couldn’t use them. The massage roll-call felt like high school again where they would call you up to join a team… it was awkward and crowded. The massage itself was nothing to write home about and they charged over $177 for a 60 minute rubdown. In a nutshell this place is the puppy-mill of Spas. Overall, it is dirty and very much unkept and run down which is unfortunate. If you can manage to see past the dirt and crowds of people, you might realize there was thought put into this place. I’m sure it was beautiful for a few weeks when it was new. I feel this spa would attract mostly people who have never seen “a forest” before - as there were chairs set up for you to stare at the drab half acre of wilderness behind the property. Assuming you successfully made it across the 4 lanes of busy highway to the hotel you would then need to navigate through an awkward series of hallways to find your room. Our room was disgusting. The carpet was wet, the toilet seat was broken and the trim on the walls was water soaked. We were awaken by heavy-bass from an adjacent room where we had to ask the front desk to have them turn it down: All in all it was a lack lustre event, I won’t be back. I’m sure they don’t care — they have my $800+ Ryan…
HOTEL: First, we arrived in daylight hours, checked in to our "suite" , and were told to go to our room 126 (called Celestre on the web site). We had to walk down a very dimly lit hallway that was so dark, we thought we were were walking into a haunted house. We could not even read the room numbers unless you got about a foot away from the room doorways. Is this some sort of joke ?! There was a light at the end of the long hallway for a large wall photo, and only when we got to the end of the hallway could we see our room number. Did not get a feeling of being safe nor customer friendly. Once in the room, which was also dimly lit, we encountered several "techy" light switches (designed for setting ambient lighting), some didn't work, others worked for coloured LED strip lights which were confusing to change colours and intensity. Lighting intensity made it more difficult to see what function the small print on the switches performed. Remote control for the TV would power on the TV, but would not change the channels, screen just kept showing the hotel advertisement. Remote control for the fireplace (although we did not need it) also failed to function Website photo of the room shows a wave type ( ~ ) lounger, not what was in the room, which was a prop up back lounger. The A/C unit had a very loud fan, and very poorly positioned right alongside the bed, which made sleeping with the unit on virtually impossible. Oh, did I mention that there was an ON/OFF light switch at the front door for selecting whether A/C or heating ( and I think it was in French only). Last but not least, the Spa's hotel is situated across the street from the Spa (a 5 lane undivided boulevard). I believe there's a limo if you want to wait for it, but don't count on the limo at Spa closing time (10 pm), it's parked so you have to walk across the boulevard in the night. We also got to experience this closing experience along with a major downpour, dressed in our bath robes and flip flops. SPA: Very nice and well equipped spa and bistro, Therapeutic massage with Mark Hindle was excellent, although more than twice the price of my home massage therapist. Therapist agreed to wear a mask on my request (I wore one throughout), but only because he was feeling under the weather and coughing a bit. I would go back to the spa, but forget the hotel, not worth the price.…
This hotel is rather difficult to access off the road. The parking lot is small and parking spaces are tight. We had a room on the ground floor. The hallway of this hotel is cave-like; very dark with purple lighting. We had a river view room, the view of which was blocked by parked cars. The breakfast was acceptable but there was nothing warm served. The front desk is inefficient, there are two people on the desk but only one can assist people with check -in or out. Overall rather dismal experience.
We liked it here and we'd stay again. My only reservation is that they double charged us (first when we reserved over the phone and when we checked in) and it took five days for them to return our security deposits. I had to call several times to sort the matter out and I don't have the time or energy to do this. Healthy breakfast is fresh and much appreciated. Rooms were nice, though I paid for two rooms with two queen-sized beds and didn't get them, but I was charged the same price. If we went back, we'd book massages for ourselves across the street.
Very close to Montreal Big pool with numerus Dry Sunna with different temperature Message was very good it was a nice experience, they had decent vine selections Staff were very friendly and helpful on weekends ,it is better to buy ticket in advance otherwise you have to wait to let you in
Arrived at night, no light at door of cabin, muddy entrance, nowhere to wipe your feet, had to use towel to wipe shoes and clean floor. We were told that because of the present health crisis they only cleaned the room every three days stay, so we had to clean the mud and dirt brought in the room ourselves. Main room of cabin, uncomfortable bed, no place to hang clothes, old and ugly tacky decor. Second room of cabin in semi renovated attic, a real oven,no ventilation just wooden window without handle or screen.(told to use old fan) Incredibly large and strange bath and shower rooms...mirrors everywhere, dancing pole in huge shower!! large wooden french doors in bath room to go to small balcony, hard to open and close as there were no handles. That old refurbished cabin is not intended for either families or friends...really oriented for couples looking for a kinky soiree. We looked at other rooms in the Hotel, they were just as tacky and again not family oriented. The hotel itself is also old with dark corridors and hardly any indications for the so-called amenities When we advised management of our dissatisfaction..we were told they had never received negative comments, but they would give us measly 20% discount, still making it a very expensive price, even higher than a suite in top quality hotels where at least you get what you pay for....very unfortunate. We had chosen that hotel because of the good reputation of the Spa and its closeness to our family and friends....We will not return nor will we recommend it…
Horrible experience. We asked for a king size bed when we called and confirmed 4 times that it was a king size bed. when we arrived in our room and we got a queen. When we went to ask for the for the room we paid for, they had over booked the rooms and only offered us 2 for one for the spa experience. the room is super small and everything is old and not at all as advertised.
I was excited to go to the spa and have a restful evening at the hotel for my Bday weekend. We were greeted by very nice staff but when we walked down the hall to our room we could not believe how bad it smelled. Then when we opened the door to our room the smell was there but they had tried to cover it up with cleaning products. I am not sure which was worse, the bad smell or the chemical cleaning smell!!! The room was I very bad condition!!! Peeling pain, cracks in the cieling and walls. The floors were ice cold and we had a lovely view of the parking lot. Nyw this was an upgraded jr suite...we called to change rooms and the staff was, understanding, kind and accommodating admitting that there was a bad smell all day. They gave us a choice of 2 other rooms. They could not show us the exact rooms as they were not cleaned yet but we chose the better of the 2 in the basement....later when we were able to check in our room the smell was awful, probably worse than the original room and again they tried to cover up with a mass amount of cleaning products. The bed was very small and if it was a queen it was not a normal sized queen. I called and asked again if there were other rooms and was told no. My husband and I were close to packing up and going home at that point but we stuck it out. In the morning we were woken by alot of noise in the hall and I think the room above. I could hear the music they were playing perfectly. All in all, nice staff that try to play, a great spa and amazing massage therapists but the hotel needs a total overhaul!! Its not aligned to the calibre that the spa offers. Photos online were completely misleading!! Save yourself the disappointment and ridiculous amount of money and find another place to stay or go home after the spa! One other last mention, the shuttle's back and forth from hotel to spa took a while. They apologized and said it was because of a small snow storm we had....really thos is Quebec, be prepared!…
CUSTOMER SERVICE is awful. They double charged me for a no show when I actually did show and refuse to pay back or help me in any other way.People working at the front desk and manager are really rude. We asked for someone to come check out are heater cause it was broken and they did not show u for 2 hours.
Our room has a comfortable bed, clean & soft sheets, facing the river (separated by a parking lot) and was very quiet. Note that the hotel is on two floors and there is no elevator. The corridors leading to the rooms is very (very!) lightly lit. It makes for a very “zen” atmosphere. Breakfast was OK. Real cheese as opposed to Kraft slices, should be offered as an improvement. Note: the spa is on the other side of a busy Boulevard which is inconvenient. Unfortunately, extra costs are required to use the spa even if you stay at the hotel.
