We had a pleasure of staying at Big Sky Lodge in February 2020. We truly enjoyed our stay with Ingrid and her family and would recommend their place to anyone who’s planning to visit Grenada! Ingrid’s hospitality, her garden, her cooking…the entire place is simply exceptional!! We miss hanging out on the porch of our little house overlooking Ingrid’s lush tropical garden and the ocean, having delicious meals with her and the other guests, traveling across the island on local buses and staying away from Grenada’s more touristy south. Ingrid went above and beyond to make a perfect stay for us – she even baked a birthday cake and threw a party for our little daughter!!! Her place is immaculately clean, located in a beautiful tropical garden within a walking distance to the beach and the local bus stop. Visitors do not necessarily need a car to explore the most essential parts of the island but should consider renting one if they plan to venture to more remote places. We truly enjoyed staying with Ingrid and her family and would come back without hesitating!…
If want a carribean get away from the crowds with excellent food and a good beach just a mile way ,then this is the place to go. You can cook for yourself or get meals provided. The lodges are roomy inthe middle of a great garden with excellent views of the surrounding countryside. If i go back to Grenada this is where i will go.
After our sailing trip we spend some days with Ingrid in the Big Sky Lodge. There are two bungalows with two rooms each, so we had all the space to ourselves. The rooms are big and around the bungalows is a beautiful garden with flowers and fruits ant everything is green. Ingrid cookd for us and it was just great. You must ask her to cook the oildown! It is a beautiful place to relax and it feels like paradise.
This is the perfect getaway spot, with TONS of fruit trees, a gorgeous view of the ocean, clean, cozy, simple rooms adorned with freshly picked flowers. When you stay here, you really feel like you are getting a taste for the island. Ingrid's Restaurant is on the property and she serves up delicious meals and large portions. We got to experience local cuisines and even help out in the kitchen! This is not just simply an accommodation, you get to immerse yourself in the local culture with the hosts and other guests. Thanks to our hosts, we got to learn the bus route, visit a local waterfall, get a tour of the nutmeg factory and even take a trek out to harvest bamboo for jewelry making. We were thankful to have chosen this location and would definitely come back. If you want to get away from fancy resorts and experience the island atop a gorgeous hill with views of the ocean and close to local markets, quiet (gorgeous!) beach and a bus ride away from waterfalls - This is it. My gypsy soul was so pleased with the authentic and warm experience we got here.…
This is in local Grenada, not the tourist strip. The accommodation is great value and set amongst lots of fruit trees - you can help yourself! Our hosts organized anything we needed and showed us around anywhere we wanted to go. Their cooking was also the best we had on the island! The local busses are loads of fun and there is a stop nearby. The local town is 'interesting', a good taste of regional Grenada but go further for a supermarket that sells a variety of food. We would love to stay here again and recommend it for anyone who wants to get away from it all, see the local lifestyle and relax :)
