Stayed a week at Yemaya in Puerto Lopez run by Miguel. Room was 25 dollars a night with bathroom, tv (for dvds) and a fan. This was good value for Puerto Lopez. The room has a small window. Yemaya is one block from the beach. Guests have terrace access with the best 360 view in Puerto Lopez. It was very...

Awesome Hostal that is very fairly priced. The rooms are cozy and simple, and the facilities worked well. They also offer a couple of whale watching tours from the front desk for relatively cheap, and the main receptionist speaks English. Overall, great place to stay, would recommend 100%. Wifi worked decently. Only downside is that the shower isn't very warm,...

This is a hotel with the typical "U" structure, where all the rooms lead to a common patio and you can listen everything. The rooms are in the ground floor and in the first floor. My room was clean, big enough, with private bathroom, soap and TV. Some of the rooms have air conditioning. It didn't have hot water. Through...

The Hostal Yemaya is close to the beach in Puerto Lopez, however the price of the rooms are a little too expensive for what you actually get. They are very old, tired, and the bathrooms need a good overhaul. The family running the hostal are nice and friendly however they try and get you to book a lot of tours...

This hostel is located within moments of the beach front and provided some of the most comfortable beds I experienced in Ecuador. Towels are provided free of charge which was a big bonus for me, requiring one for my day trip to Isla de Plata (poor man's galapagos). Two friends and I stayed in the 6 bed mixed dorm which...

A lot of confusion when I tried to check in, I reserved a single with a privet bath for $13 a night. I was given a dorm room with 2 guys, for $10 a day, silly me I thought that it would be for the 4 days of my stay. After returning from a snorkeling trip (only gone for a...

In our one year trip this is the most overrated hostal ever. They ask 30 dollar per night for a small room (which I`m okay with). Not really clean. The curtains are hold together with a clothespin. The towels where old and very thin. But the worst thing in this hostal was the bed, this was so old that when...

Puerto Lopez has a number of places to stay but this seems to be the hostal of choice for many travellers, on a budget of around $30 a night for a private bathroom, less for a dorm room. It is less than a block from the beach on the most central road in town, although there is not much traffic...

Yemaya Hostal is located a mere block and a half from the Pacific Ocean in a pedestrian area another block and a half from the main road of this cute unspoiled seaside fishing town. Miguel, who runs the place, speaks pretty good English and can get his customers great discounts on local tours, which include the Isla de la Plata...
