The hotel has a wonderful situation and merges well into its surroundings. A great deal of thought has gone into the design, and the beds were as large and comfortable as in our other stays in KZN. The staff were professional, friendly and trained to within an inch of their lives. Our food was understandably disappointing as we were the...

The position overlooking the plains is everything with this hotel blending into the countryside exceedingly well. The staff were very friendly & helpful and always had time to chat. The rooms are comfortable, each with its own balcony. Unfortunately the food lets the whole hotel down - despite offering a 4 course dinner the portions are small and not well...

Dear Vivienne: Thank you so much for your candid review about your recent visit to Isandlwana Lodge. As one of the founders of the lodge, it grieves me deeply to hear that you were disappointed in any way. Thank you for mentioning that the food portions were small, not well presented, and was not hot when served. The lodge manager...

As mentioned in many previous reviews, the view and location of the lodge is stunning. Keylie in particular is very welcoming and helpful. For people used to walk, we would highly recommend the Fugitive Trail (5 hours trekking) with Dalton as a guide ! Barry Marshall was great to meet with and amongst other qualities a well informed guide. Sadly...

After a longish drive to the lodge involving some gravel roads it was a relief to finally arrive. The hotel has a spectacular location overlooking Isandlwana Battlefields. It is set into the hillside from which the Zulu leaders directed the battle. The hotel itself was eye catching with thatched roof and very impressive stone work. The stone work appeared to...

Thank you, Martin, for posting a review for us. We are so pleased you found the experience worthwhile and your comments are very helpful to us. Outstanding lodge and outstanding service. The view at Isandlwana is second to none, and you can't help but get encaptured by the surrounding beauty and what happened here. A real bit of history. The staff were superb throughout, nothing too much trouble and the food was impeccable. Really enjoyed our time here.

This is a beautiful building with great rooms perfectly sited with a view of the Isandlwana Battlefield. Their battlefield guide, Dalton, is outstanding. After that it is just bad news. The problems all stem from poor management. The staff are poorly trained and thus provide poor service in the dining room and at the reception. I consider that one of...

It's rocky road up to this lodge but worth the bouncing around! Rooms are fine and loved the curvy bathroom tiled in what looks like local stone. The building is of stunning African construction, perched high above the battlefield and clinging to the hillside. Staff are very friendly and efficient. However we were two of only 5 guests. We ate...

We recently spent 2 days at the Lodge taking in the Isandlwana and Rourke's Drift tours. The Rooms were clean and well appointed with balconies giving a superb view of the area. Food and service was very good. The tours were very informative and we were fortunate to have as our guide Dalton who is Lindizwe (Dalton) Ngobese, the great-great...

Beautifully set an a hill overlooking the battlefield the hotel has the air (and costs) of a game lodge. Bedrooms were fine although would probably benefit from air conditioning in hot weather. The staff were lovely although the food itself ranged from average to poor. Overall a good location for history buffs but far over-priced for what it delivers

We recently spend 3 Nights at Isandlwana Lodge. It was on my Bucket list to visit the Natal battlefields, We found the Lodge to be of a high standard, management and Staff were all friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms were extremely well equipped with magnificent views out over the battlefield. There were some nice small touches e.g. Coffee and...
