Where do I start? This place is magical. This intimate hotel is tucked away in the jungle. Literally, IN THE JUNGLE. Every morning we woke up to the sounds and views of the jungle and the ocean. It really was stunning. The bed was cozy, the views of the sunsets (especially from the shower; you'll see) were jaw dropping, the private pool, deck and outdoor shower were perfect added amenities. The atmosphere of the entire hotel is so wonderful. Now, the food! We ate our breakfasts and dinners on property everyday and the food is delicious. I think I had the best tuna I've ever had in my life. We didn't have one bad meal. Not only did the food taste great, but it was also beautiful. I should have taken food pics. The staff are all wonderful humans. "No" was never an answer. They all went out of their way to make sure our every need was met. They booked all our fun excursions and transportation and provided anything we needed. Anything. Additionally, there are some great walking trails around the property as well. If you just wanted to move a little before relaxing at the pool, those trails were perfect. We loved getting to know the other guests too. Given the intimacy of the hotel, it really feels like you're staying at someone's super sweet house and getting to know their friends. It's not weird at all. But if you're an introvert, you can still be one here. No one will judge. At the end of our stay, we hugged the guests and the staff; it was hard to leave this place. It really touched us. We've stayed at Four Seasons, Waldorf and other boutique hotels around the world and this place slays. Choose here. You won't regret it. If you don't enjoy yourself immensely. It's you.

What a stay! We opted for an all inclusive option that had me nervous at first but I would not do it any other way! We allowed Jenny and Esteban to curate a schedule for us in part because we did not have the time to do the research and went on faith—oh boy did it pay off! I asked for a mindful adventure retreat and my wife asked for pure luxury. We had morning yoga daily with an activity (mangrove kayaking, waterfall repelling, surfing x 3, sunset horseback ridding, paragliding, massage – which could each use their own five star review) each morning or afternoon—everything was perfectly taken care of, we just had to show up. We recommend asking about options for taxi services when booking. Oh, and don’t worry, this left plenty of time to relax in the resort and enjoy the amenities.

The Villa was amazing, and perhaps, even better than advertised! I’m not sure if writing about a poo with a view gains me credibility, but just you wait and see for yourself! The linens were crisp, the plunge pool / private spa water was clean and soft, the views exist from anywhere, and the coffee—oh ya the coffee needs it own review but they give you more than enough in your room to get you up the hill and to your next cup (ask the bartender/waiters [Juan, Yulay, Sofia, Gary] for a verity of different late, capuchins, or drips – it was like we uncovered a secret menu)! Also, I cannot wait to come back and do the hike to coffee farm and roster tour! My wife and I also enjoyed walking into the room each afternoon so see what unique tidying up surprise was left by Roci (towel art, organized shoes, wet things arranged with style to dry etc.), it felt very special.

Unfortunately, I was not able to fully unplug from work for the week, but with two ISPs on site I had no concern about the ability to work remotely. I took calls, streamed video, sent email, access servers like a dream—no one had any idea where I was working from 😉

I’m getting long winded here so I’ll just drop one line about the food—amazing. Chef Luis was amazing and we never needed to worry about the wife’s food allergy. We adopted the strategy of my wife and I each ordering a different dish at each meal and swapping halfway through because we both wanted to try every meal! Oh ya--don’t forget to try the different juices the staff makes to order!

I can not wait to return and bring my friends!

Thank you, Ricky, for taking time to share your experience staying with us and enjoying an all-inclusive package! We loved having you and AC. You made the most of a working week here, taking advantage of the high speed wifi and also of our itinerary planning services. I've shared your compliments with our restaurant team who are responsible for the excellent food, cappuccinos, and made to order juices. We are also happy you enjoyed the ocean views from the bathroom :) We can't wait to have you back.

My sister and I just left after spending three and a half weeks and the enchanting VIsta Celestial. The name tells you that the view is heavenly and it is. But it doesn't go far enough as the entire resort is heavenly. The team of Esteban, Gary and Juan work every minute to ensure that every aspect of your stay is wonderful. They clearly take tremendous pride in making sure that every detail is perfect. We left feeling rested and cared for. I should mention that we had two issues with our rental car. Both times, Esteban came to get us and worked with the agency to get our car fixed. That kind of service is what makes Vista Celestial the exceptional place that it is. I have traveled all over the world. The attention you get at this hotel is the best!

This boutique resort was an amazing place. Everyone did their best to make sure all the guest got what they needed. My wife was pregnant and they made sure to take extra care with her food and whatever else she needed. The managers were wonderful and even took us on a hike to the top of the mountain. The food was wonderful from all the chefs and the staff was extremely pleasant. If you are looking for a resort in Costa Rica I strongly recommend this one. We will be returning next year for another week in this jungle paradise!

Everyone must stay at Vista Celestial! I was so surprised by what we got for the price. When it comes to all inclusive, I was expecting the bare minimum, but this place gives the true meaning of all inclusive. Our stay was $4000 total (we added on the adventure package) for us as a couple and this felt like a $10,000 trip for such a low price. The second you arrive, until you leave, the staff treats you like royalty. The resort was full, but somehow we never saw a soul. It felt like our own private resort & we felt like rockstars! Everyone knew all of my food allergies and the chefs curated our experience to fit my needs. I am actually autistic and experience high levels of stress and anxiety, so with that being said, Alexa made this the smoothest vacation I have ever experienced. She planned every adventure, along with scheduling our rides to and from the excursions. She even wrote up a handheld itinerary for me, since I have a horrible memory. If we were gone for 30 minutes, housekeeping would pull in (unseen) and clean that room like a pit stop on a race track. It was CRAZY. We left for lunch one day and came back to massage tables and towel origami set up for our private couples massage. Now let me tell you, that massage was the best I’ve ever received in my life. I don’t know where those girls studied, but she knew EXACTLY what she was doing. A private yoga session was also included & their yoga platform in just to die for. Go check out those photos because it’s where you could only dream of having a yoga session. Just overall, simply amazing. The one word I could use to describe this trip, and everything Alexa did for us, is unimaginable.

The experience of staying at Vista celestial was truly amazing. We loved our time there!! I am so happy that my dad and I chose to stay at vista celestial since it felt like a family. Jennie and Greg, the owners, were extremely helpful and welcoming. Jennie helped us plan our whole trip and made an itinerary for us where we did not have to worry about anything (including transportation), which included surfing, zip lining, and seeing animals at Manuel Antonio park, a waterfall hike on the hotel grounds, a private massage, sunset yoga, and yoga on the jungle platform. Jennie and Greg made us feel at home and had dinner with us and played board games with us as well. Our highlight of the trip was visiting the general manager, Esteban’s, coffee plantation where we were able to spend time with his family, enjoy a local meal, and learn about the process of making our own coffee. They made us feel very special from the moment we entered their home. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this hotel with the beautiful view of the whales tale, the private hot tub, waking up to toucans and hummingbirds, the great food (we loved the flan so much and the fresh juices, and are looking forward to our next trip to return!!! We have traveled extensively, and it was one of our favorite trips we have had. The hotel rooms were very clean and we were able to fly out of quepos airport which is only a 45 minute drive from the hotel back to San José. Thank you to Juan, Esteban, Jennie, Greg, and family for making our time in Costa Rica so special!

The staff at vista Vista Celestial made sure we had the most perfect honeymoon we ever could have asked for! Juan, Luis, Gary, and Esteban are gold! We were sad to leave the vacation because by the end they felt like friends. They treated us like family and nothing was compromised even though we were the only guests at the time. It was always 100% service and the best they could give. We also received very quick responses before our trip which made the planning process such a breeze.

The referrals they gave us made us feel like they catered to who we were as guests, because they took the time to get to know us to make sure that our excursions were personalized to us. And that was just the service and doesn't even begin to touch on the facility.

Everything was always clean, ready for us, and the views were just breathtaking. You will be blown away by the view from the moment you walk onto the property. It overlooks the jungle canopy and ocean from each room and from the main common area. The private jacuzzi was such a dream surrounded by so much nature. The food was also phenomenal! We only ate out for dinner twice out of the 7 nights we were there because it was just that good.

We will be recommending Vista Celestial to everyone we know planning a trip to Costa Rica.

We were able to enjoy the beauty of the Vista Celestial during a yoga retreat. 10 women attended and we were catered to by the sweetest team of people. The personalization, hospitality and attention to detail was extraordinary. The surroundings were breath taking, waking to the Pacific Ocean out our slider door, listening to the howler monkeys and watching the humming birds and toucans in the jungle. The grounds were beautifully maintained and we felt as though we had been invited to enjoy someone's passion project. Everything was perfect and truly evoked complete relaxation. I will be back next year! Thank you to everyone who made this trip so special 😊

Just returned from my fourth year at Vista Celestial. We were there only 20 hours and had already sighted Toucans, lots of monkeys, coati, agouti, and many other birds and butterflies! This was all from the property! The staff is exceptional. They care about exceeding every one of your needs. The chef came to chat with us daily to make sure he was accommodating everyone’s food preferences. Isaac is the best! He helped me organize and plan each day so that the guests on my retreat were beyond happy. Esteban and his family are precious. We had an unbelievable day hiking and visiting his coffee plantation. His wife and mom cooked us a delicious typical Costa Rican meal at theIt home high up in the mountains. We took three excursions with Carlos by Whales Tail Beach. We loved every minute. The kayak and snorkel trip was a blast! The best part of every day was happy hour at sunset from the stunning pool on the property. We sat for hours talking, singing, playing games, taking photos and enjoying eachother and the staff. VC is my happy place. Thanks for the memories.

We had an incredible stay at Vista Celestial. It is a beautiful boutique property where we really felt like we had a tropical paradise to ourselves, with beautiful large and secluded rooms that had large windows and private terraces and hot tubs. We frequently saw monkeys and toucans right on the trees overlooking our terrace.

We thought the dining experience was also great, with a fresh and changing menu every day, and fresh fruit from the garden available all the time. The terrace is beautiful, exclusive to the guests of the hotel, with breathtaking views of the iconic Whale's Tail.

We will certainly be back!

There are a few options to get to us. First you would fly into San Jose (SJO) , the international airport. From there you can either rent a car ( we can help you with getting quotes) or we can arrange a shuttle for you. The drive is 3.5-4 hours on well maintained roads and highways. It is a pretty and scenic drive. Your other option is to fly from SJO to Quepos/Manuel Antonio/ Boca Naranjo on either Costa Rica Green Airways , SkyWay , TAC Airlines , Sansa Regional or Nature Air . It is a 22 minute direct flight and then from there it is only a 45 minute drive to us. The puddle jumper flight is a nice option and is almost like a quick aerial tour. The fares are generally pretty affordable as well. Sometimes it can be difficult to coordinate your international flight times with the regional flight times. A private car/shuttle from SJO is $220 each way ( with an additional $40 fee for late night/super early morning fares ) . From Quepos it is $110 each way ( with an additional $40 fee for late night/super early morning fares ). We will gladly assist you with arranging your ground transportation needs.

How far is the resort from the beach?
Answer from VistaCelestial
Uvita, Costa Rica4 contributions
It is approximately 4 miles to the nearest beach from our property. The downhill drive is roughly 15 minutes and then the drive to the beach from the base of the mountain ( depending on which beach you go to ) varies. In total to the closest beach it should take no more than 20 minutes. There are many options for beautiful beaches along our coast. Hope this is helpful.

The hotel is 3.5-4 hours from the San Jose Airport , on well paved roads, however a 4x4 is required to get up the mountain road to the hotel, as well as many of the Costa Rican back/side/mountain roads. We are only 45 minutes from Quepos/Manuel Antonio, so you also have the option to take a puddle jumper flight from SJO to Quepos. You can check out either Sansa Regional or Nature Air for the regional flights. It is only a 22 minute flight from SJO to Quepos :) Jen
