Jumping into the river swimming hole below the waterfall, exploring the rain forest, quiet secluded beach, swimming through a cave, waking to the toucans in the native but craftsman bungalow made from wood harvested from the grounds, dinners where they can tell you who the fisherman was that caught your meal. It was a family adventure we will not forget!

Fascinating place...off the road by a typical dirt driveway that twists and turns, you initially come to a security check point, which was not really friendly. My gut is he was trying to look tough to make us feel more secure, but came off as rude. Then the check in process at the main office, which is far too elaborate.... More

At the risk of writing a novel of everything we loved about our stay, I'll write it in bullet points: •delicious food and GREAT service. If you have food preferences, they are happy to adjust. Mike, our server, was so friendly. •no AC but it didn't bother us at all. There were fans. •absolutely stunning views from the "lobby" where... More

Oh La Cusinga, how I love thee! I spent 6 glorious nights at this little oasis. I was looking for a serene location away from any "touristy" areas and La Cusinga hit the mark! Views of the Pacific and abundant wild life made for an amazing solo vacation. The staff, food, grounds, and location all get big thumbs up! I... More

Uvita is such a special destination along the Pacific Coast, and La Cusinga is one of the nicest places to stay near town. Great food, well maintained and scenic nature trails, beautiful rooms, tranquil and gorgeous yoga studio, fantastic view of the coast, and lots of wildlife, including PLENTY of Cusingas. They have also received the Bandera Azul designation for... More

Get away from the crowds and stay at this jewel of a hotel in CR's southern zone. La Cusinga is very well run and managed, and it has a fantastic staff. It is the perfect place to unwind and experience the country's natural beauty. Arco beach is stunning and the trails around the lodge are well maintained. Our family spent... More

We stayed at La Cusinga and it felt like actually living in the rain forest. We stayed here at the end of our 9 days in CR and we were ready for a massage at the spa (the best I've ever had - ask for Marcela!), yoga, and a quiet beach to explore. Since it was the off season, we... More

La Cusinga provides the experience you want from a visit to Costa Rica. The resort is in the middle of a rain forest with the trees, flowers, birds and other wildlife you expect in that environment. In short, the best experience Costa Rica can offer. The area, the staff, the views- La Cusinga has it all. There is no TV or AC, but those aren't the reasons you go to CR anyway.
