We arrived here a 7 pm after a 4 hour drive from the Costa Brava to be greeted with an INVITATION to dinner party. Naturally it was Sunday night and there wasn't much open in the area so we were thoroughly delighted to say "yes"! In less than an hour we were sitting around a grand dinner table, party of...

We enjoyed a 2 night stay in this stunning building, set in a wonderfully peaceful location just outside Agen. The rooms are great, breakfast wonderful, gardens beautiful. But it is the personal care of Jean-Francois and his wife which make this place so much more than just a place to stay. Their hospitality and generosity of spirit was amazing. JF...

Visiting Agen to watch a rugby match, we decided to organise an extended weekend break with friends staying in one place for three nights. Unconvinced by the reviews of the more business-orientated/functional hotels and apartments in the town itself, we chose to stay at Chateau de Cambes because of its excellent Tripadvisor reviews. And what a good decision that proved...

I don't know about you, but the last time I slept in a castle was when I was in my stroller at Disneyland. This, however, is the real deal. Built from the 1500s, finished in the 1800s, with beautiful interior remodeling (i.e. modern plumbing) and decoration, spectacular gardens, walks, views and setting. Jean-Francois and Chantal have travelled the world collecting...

Words cannot do this place justice!! In fact we would give it a 10!! We had a great time in Agen – and the reason was our time at Chateau de Cambes. From the word go we felt we have arrived at the perfect place to complete our journey of South Western France. We were received perfectly, made to feel...

We found this chateau by chance - but are so glad that we did. I agree with all the good reviews we read - this is a not-to-be missed gem, hidden away in the countryside. The owners could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The room was amazing (Opera), with beautiful views, modern bathroom and huge and comfortable bed....

We stayed for three nights in August and it was the highlight of our trip. The house is beautiful, the room we stayed in (Hermes) was perfect, comfortable, decorated beautifully and huge. The views were amazing, dinner and breakfast were just perfect. The hosts were welcoming, helpful and a joy. The setting of the chateau is so special as well....

Great last minute find. Fantastic location, accommodation and food. Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming. Agree with other reviews - if we could give it 6 stars we would! Almost want to keep it a secret as it only has 4 rooms!

Chateau de Cambes was the highlight of our recent trip to France...beautiful setting, relaxing, the most gracious hosts - perfection! We opted to have dinner the night we arrived; it was so wonderful that we could not resist dining there the second night of our "too short stay"! Chantal and Jean-Francois made us feel so welcome, and it is clear...

Arriving at the Chateau de Cambes, you cannot help but be impressed with the building, the grounds and the individually styled spacious rooms, many of which have a wonderful view over the valley towards Agen. We stayed in the "Opera" room and I can thoroughly recommed it, although all the other rooms are equally luxurious. However, it is when you...
