This was our second stay here, en route from the tunnel to the Lyon area.. The restaurant meal, (fish), was memorable! Le Crotoy is a lovely little fishing village, full of little fish restaurants. The hotel room was fine, spotlessly clean and comfortable. We will return, next time for a two night stay so that we can explore the area a little. The staff are great!
Just stayed at this fabulous little Hotel and couldn’t fault in any way. Also had meal in restaurant and went for the tasting menu with wine and could not have been better, will definitely go back soon.
The Auberge de la Marine is a small hotel that is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very good. We didn't use the restaurant as the menu did not meet our needs this time. If we have been there longer we would have tried it. The smallish room was fine. Bin collection is a bit of a nightmare at 04.00. WiFi is a number for one machine so ask for more.
Spent 1 night here, v attractive looking hotel, with v modern and inviting bar, v friendly meet and greet, room was simply furnished and small but comfortable, pokey little shower, superb breakfast with excellent scrambled egg! So v good boutique hotel, the small size of the bedroom being the only negative.
We highly recommend the restaurant at the Auberge de la Marine, but the hotel itself has really very small rooms. The hotel is on a corner, between 2 roads a short walk from the harbour and is modern and clean. Our room just had room for a small double bed, then there was a tiny shower room off it. The road was a bit noisy so the window could not be left open at night, with the result that the room was very overheated during the night! It is owned by a nice, friendly couple and breakfast and dinner were good.
Friendly reception, bedroom spotlessly clean, although a little cramped. Evening meal top quality, in modern dining room, efficient, friendly service, and above-average breakfast. You can purchase discounted street parking tickets from reception
Our room was very comfortable and quiet and we were made to feel very welcome. Dinner and breakfast in the restuarant were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly visit the hotel again.
We stayed here a single night and had dinner in the restaurant. On a 2 week driving tour of France (albeit with 7 nights in a gite) this was by far the best hotel. The room was modern, fresh and wonderfully quirky in its shape. Despite being at the front of the hotel we had a restful night's sleep and an excellent breakfast in the morning. The only downside to the hotel is the lack of dedicated parking and need to pay for roadside parking. But even on a hot and busy Sunday afternoon we had no trouble finding a spot close to the hotel. Wi-fi is free but was not overly strong in our room. The restaurant is wonderful. Clearly the kitchen/chef takes great pride in sourcing its produce and the waiting staff are well versed in describing the details of each dish. From the amuse bouche to the dessert we were delighted with a range of tastes and skill in presentation. My lightly grilled oysters with 'sea foam' were wonderful, my wife's soft boiled egg (sounds dull, but it wasn't) also very good. Main courses were inventive (not all of it worked, but I can forgive that; the pickled cabbage was not the best accompaniment to my fish and the sauce with my wife's plaice was perhaps too strong tasting for such a lightly flavoured fish, but the sauce was supplied separately, so could be adjusted in quantity). Service was attentive yet unobtrusive and very professional. You have to try this restaurant (and stay at the hotel to avoid any need to either drive or even walk too far afterwards).…
in the area there are quite some restaurants, but this is by far the best one. Food and preparation are excellent; light courses, well mixed flavours, all beautifully arranged. Service is professional and outstanding.
Planned to go for a meal as we were staying in le crotoy in holiday-let self catering. We did need to book and so glad we did, we were not disappointed. Meal and wine were truly delish although a tad expensive - but we found that all of le crotoy was, the service was good and they spoke perfect English which helped because there was a lot to choose from on the menu.
