Detailed Reviews
We rented one of the cottages for a week. We choose the location because it is a great deal 4 bedroom cottage, near multiple destinations. Skellig, ring of Kerry and Dingle peninsula are all easy day trips. Very peaceful and relaxing. Never saw so many stars in the sky. Because the area is a little desolate I would recommend getting groceries on the way there.

Great location in terms of the view. It is very peaceful and tranquil. Owner very friendly and helpful. Cottages were dark and felt almost musty. The cottage needs a good clean lots of dust, cobwebs and grime in the bathrooms. Windows were filthy so first impressions were disappointing. Lawn unkempt and not cut. On the plus side it is very peaceful and big green area for kids to play. Rocky beach at end if garden is nice. BBQ was filthy and rusty. A bit of attention to detail , a good clean and these cottages should be 5 star. They are in need of modernisation. They were not cheap so I do expect more and at a least a clean cottage.

We stayed five nights at the end of December and wished we stayed longer. Elizabeth is great and takes good care to the cottages. Unlimited turf is a plus for heating and the cottages are very clean. The location is close to so many things and perfect for exploration of the ring of Kerry. We will be back for sure!

We stayed here for a week arriving on the 9th August. After a 6 hour drive to get there we arrived at 1530, 30 minutes before our check in time. Our cottage was being cleaned (or so we we told) and Mrs Lynch told us to go and come back later, after a long drive I told her we were fine waiting as we knew we were early. At about 1550 Mrs Lynch said the cottage was ready but the toilet seat in the main bedroon was broken but was in the process of being fixed, this was not an issue with us. On entering the cottage it was very evident that the word cleaning had been used in the loosest terms as we could see that the cottage was far from clean and was in dire need of a complete overhaul, it was extremely shabby and rundown and we were sorley dissapointed up to the point that we were going to leave in the morning. With the toilet seat repaired I used it only to find it went one way and I the other as it had been patched up like the rest of the place, 2 bedside lamps not working and light not working in the main bathroom. On phoning Mrs Lynch in regards to the faults and toilet seat she called to the door to say the repairs couldnt be done that night as the person who did them was "having a wee sleep",we had no choice but to wait. Dont be fooled by the website pictures, this is a tired and grubby cottage that really is in need of a make over and more attention to detail when cleaning, Showers were also an issue as when we stayed you could only use one at a time but to be honest we didnt think there was any point in reporting it due to the prevous response. We looked around for another cottage in the area but they were booked up so we ended up staying the week but spent as little time as we could indoors. I noticed another review going back to 2013 with a similar outcome so there is no excuse to have the same complaints in 2014.

We spent five days with another family at the Seaside Cottages. The location is definitely the best feature of these cosy cottages that feel much bigger than they appear from the road.
Pros: plenty of space for our two families (a total of six people); the kitchen was decently equipped, the living spaces were well furnished, free peat for the fire.
Cons: the beds weren't very comfortable; a drafty front door meant that we had to use more electricity to heat the rooms; we thought there would be two en suite double rooms. There were two double rooms but only one was en suite. The other en suite room had two twin beds. Not ideal for the two couples.
We would definitely visit again if we were in the area, but I think I'd bring a topper for the mattress.

The cottage is facing Valentia Island and has a lovely view. Even though the cottage is right beside the road, there is very little traffic noise. We enjoyed our stay, lighting the turf fire in the evening was a special treat. The rooms were a little hard to heat, but we managed. I'm looking forward to our next visit.

Stayed in the Seaside Cottages for a week. Accomadation was perfect, beautiful stone and timber interior, comfortable beds and furniture, fully equipped kitchen but the real winner was the huge grass back garden leading down to the sea. The view from the patio as the barbie was cooking breakfast and dinner was hard to beat. The owner was very welcoming and helpful, the cottage was warm and cosy and child friendly, the jacuzzi bath was lovely after days out exploring and I would happily recommend the cottage and intend to return again myself.

Stayed at Old Stones cottage with friends and had a terrific time. The cottage leads right down to the see and the views are breath-taking. Portmagee is a very charming little fishing village with some great irish music trad sessions. Lots of sights and attractions to visit such as the skelligs (do not miss the puffins), geokaun mountain, chocolate factory and just the generally beautiful scenery. Cottage was very cosy, especially the open peat fire for sitting around at night. Would highly recommend.

My family stayed here for a week over Thanksgiving. The cottages are wonderful
fully equipped plenty of space. You need a car as they are not in town. Third time I have rented here, always a great experience.
