WE HAD THE BEST TIME! Thank you to Gabriella and Paulo for making our stay so memorable. We LOVED our room and the ICONIC views of the dramatic beach and coastline. Postcard moments! We wanted to have a base for our road trip in Puglia as we were nervous about staying in different places during Covid times. Covo dei Saraceni met all of our expectations. It was the perfect base, and everyone at the Hotel made us feel very safe. I thank you all. Would most definitely recommend staying here.
A good hotel should make you feel welcome, looked after and appreciated. This hotel does none of that. From check in, to service at breakfast and dinner to the penny inching final bill at checkout this hotel failed us on all counts and we will never return. We just returned from 7 days in a suite at this place that I have to say is located marvellously atop the cliffs of the bay overlooking the wonderful bay and turquoise sea. Our room had one of the biggest terrace I have ever seen and captured the sun at all time of the day. The buildings common areas are beautiful and the restaurant overlooks the scenery with may tables having open air views, Our room had been decorated in the modern style, far too contemporary for us and well out of keeping with the elegant style of the old building. The flooring moved from elegant tile to swathes of pebbles that for people who tend to move around barefoot indoors is uncomfortable. Many of the staff cannot speak good English and trying to order breakfast from behind a mask was impossible - you had to resort to hand gestures, now my Italian could be better I know, but I am paying to stay there and they are getting paid to serve me - right?! This hotel has it all going for it in terms of location and the old building is great - it should be a wonderful place to stay but it is spoilt by its managements lack of attention to detail and the poor attention of some staff. …
Iconic view, the postcard view, the world famous one. The sight is over the Polignano narrow deep cove that eats the white rocks of tufo with house built in a kind of house of cards reminiscent of arabic and turk influences. Now the restauraunt. Classy, smart, with a service to match. A beautiful terrace overarching the iconic Polignano cove. Wonderful. The food. Average.Nothing to really complain about but the portions are really too small and so it leaves a feeling of unfulfilled, of unfinished. The only remarkable dish was the ricotta tart. Excellent. The price. Given the place the sight and the service fair leaning towards expensive. But acceptable. So if you want to be mesmerized by an amazing view and suspend your life in a postcard thats the place. That's what you are buying. A picture postcard. …
The room was nice, although the bathroom had no windows. The shower did not seal properly so all the floor got wet. The room was on the first floor of the dependance and the shutters kept closing from the wind. The first day they did not clean the room until 4 pm and they did not add the amenities. The worse was breakfast, slow for the buffet service ( for COVID, I understand but this is not a solution) the pastries are all frozen, and the lady in charge of beverages was rude to say the least. NOTE the area is mostly closed for cars and the parking is not so close, but the valet was very helpful
Hotel overlooks the Aegean Sea, with great scenic views--ups rating for what would have been a 4, to a 5. Rooms were very clean. Decent location, with a short (~10 Minutes) walk to the old town. Breakfast was standard hotel fare, with eggs for the Americans and cheese/meat for the Europeans. Staff was very friendly.
