I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone for the following reasons, which I feel merit the full explanation I have given below. In short, the owner of this hotel is an odious individual who should not be in the hotel business if he does not want to be polite, or even honest to his guests. He does not deserve your...

The guy that runs this place was drunk and abusive while we dined at the restaurant. He was an old Swiss guy and not only tried to rip us off with the bill but then started to rant and rave when we questioned the bill (which he had tallied up completely incorrectly). Expensive, horrible service and average food at best....

"We were only in Panzano for 2 nights, but wish we had stayed longer. This was our second time in Chianti, but our first time at Villa Sangiovese. From the time we arrived the owners and staff fussed after us. The room was clean and spacious as was everything in the hotel. They have a lovely courtyard and a peaceful...

Panzano is a small village right off the Chianti Wine Road S222 - a lovely car drive through the Italian countryside from Florence to Sienna. It is just past Greve, considered the unofficial "capital" of Chianti. This hotel sits on the main square of Panzano and while it doesn't have a remarkable facade, the view from the back of the...

We are hooked on our annual visits to this hotel, and eager to return this year, 2010. The hotel is elegant and comfortable: the front faces a tiny market square, and the back looks over a steeply terraced garden into a glorious valley. The owners are most hospitable, the rooms pleasing, spacious and cool, and the food excellent. Breakfast is...

I have had many holidays in Italy and found Panzano to be a lovely town, ideally situated for exploring Tuscany. The Villasangiovese was wonderful and the food excellent. The staff were friendly and most helpful and we left having had a marvellous time. Sadly our memories now are of the £70.00 parking fine that followed us home. Yes the room...

This was a great place to get away from the chaos of the bigger Italian cities. After encountering a not so good experience in Venice, we were ready to enjoy ourselves and relax. The Villa Sangiovese was an absolute blessing. Anne-Marie and Ulderico Bleuler-Staerkl were welcoming hosts and are two of the hardest working people I've ever met. They were...

Villa Sangiovese is a very pretty and good hotel with a large, well kept garden and friendly staff. The rooms are well proportioned and laid out, the restaurant is perfectly adequate and the general atmosphere is pleasant, though probably due to the fact that the place is run by a Swiss family not quite as exuberant as we came across...

Booked on internet following a couple of good reviews in TA. Hotel immaculate and room spacious and comfortable with large bath and hand held shower. Our room overlooked the square but was not noisy. Great start to a few days motoring in Tuscany and Umbria. Public carpark nearby is freely available and only one space is available for unloading luggage...
