We have just spent 3 nights at Grizedale Lodge where friends & family took over the whole lodge to celebrate my husband's birthday. I have to say we had a fabulous time & having exclusive use of the lodge just added to the experience. Richard & Debs are amazing hosts (& Debs is an amazing cook!!) with nothing too much...

Thank you for your review. I am pleased that you enjoyed the weekend and had a fantastic birthday celebration. It worked well having exclusive use of the lodge as you didn't need to be concerned about other guests. It was a lovely evening on Monday with everyone dressed so smartly to celebrate the birthday. I hope you will be able...

This is our first visit back since Richard and Deborah have taken over, we loved it before and we love it even more now. Nice to see the touches they have kept from when the previous owners had it such as doggie breakfast but the work completed on the house is a complete transformation. The service was faultless - down...

Thank you for your kind review, especially as you have been before we took over. The location is stunning and a great place to relax and unwind. Doggy breakfasts and whisky porridge were a 'must' to keep as many guests commented on these little 'extras'! I hope you are able to come again sometime. All the very best Richard &...

We have just returned from a 3 night stay with Richard and Deborah at Grizedale lodge. The lodge was recommended to us by a friend and it didn't disappoint! Although the setting and close proximity to Grizedale forest (and go ape which we all loved) was incredible, what really makes this lovely guest house stand out is the total dedication...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for your lovely comments, and I am pleased the ipad arrived back safely. Debs is a fine cook and often guests eat here more than they intended when they smell the food cooking in the kitchen. I look forward to welcoming you all again sometime. All the best Richard

4 excellent nights. Very relaxed and warm atmosphere created by Richard and Deb, the owners with a delightful welcome. Would have been an excellent stay even in bad weather with a large comfy lounge, wood fire and honesty bar but with a surprisingly warm and sunny few days in April we gladly spent our time walking and sightseeing (and taking...

Thank you for your review. The sitting room is ideal for couples to just sit and read, play games or relax with a drink, and the same is true for groups that can all do what they want all together, even when they span 3 generations! It is very satisfying to hear the chat and laughter coming from the sitting...
