We were at Summer Lodge in early December for 2 nights. Our 4th visit in the last 3 years, I don’t allocate 5 stars easily - they truly have to be earned ! But Summer Lodge is really out of the top drawer . A true English Country House Hotel at the top of its game. From Christmas Lights, immaculate gardens, great pool and spa to beautiful rooms, so well furnished and presented . The food and wine list are top notch too. Staff are friendly, helpful , very professional, and are a true Team. Jack and Alex as joint GMs are very hands on .......often a sign of a good Hotel . Covid precautions from the top drawer too. Not a cheap, but real quality and lovely atmosphere all the way.
Beautiful room, very comfortable bed and gorgeous bathroom. Friendliest and most welcoming staff ever. Excellent food both for breakfast (which we had in the veranda overlooking the garden) and dinner. Bowl of fresh fruit, tea and coffee making facilities and baked on the premises cookies left daily in the room. Very quiet at night. Attractive swimming pool. Evershot is easy to get to, a small turning off the A37 along a country road leads you there. The spectacular coast (West Bay where Broadchurch was filmed) is only 11 miles away. There are beautiful historic towns in the vicinity and Dorset is a most beautiful county. Highly recommended.
We stayed three nights and were made so very welcome. Friendly staff, superb food, comfortable room and surroundings. The pool is a definite bonus, with particular attention being given to regular cleaning of surfaces. The location is very quiet indeed, and perfect for exploring this part of Dorset. Admittedly not cheap, but this genuinely is a case of getting what you pay for.
We spent two nights here straight after lockdown ended in early December. The room was beautiful and the staff just lovely - really friendly and helpful. Both the hotel and Evershot itself were so pretty with all the Christmas decorations. We ate at the Acorn pub the first night and in the hotel the second night - both meals were excellent. One thing to note is that the hotel has a lovely spa and decent size swimming pool. We hadn’t realised and wished we’d packed accordingly!
My husband 11 year old son and I, spent three wonderful nights in one of the two bed cottages, over half term. The cottage was traditionally styled and super cosy with a fireplace. Felt like home from home. We had all the normal services of the hotel including room service. The hotel is in an ideal location for picturesque country walks. The staff at the hotel were great. Friendly and very attentive. I was particularly touched that when the restaurant staff found out that I was vegan on the first evening the chef prepared a full vegan menu for me for the rest of my stay. Not only was this lovely but the food was so delicious that my non vegan son ate all my desert! We would like to thank everyone at summer lodge for a wonderful stay. We left to continue our break in Cornwall but our son loved it so much he did not want to leave. Despite all the COVID restrictions, it’s still a special place. We wish everyone at summer lodge all the very best during these difficult times and hope to return in the not too distant future. Warmest regards.…
