We stayed here for a night at the weekend and loved the place. The bar is a proper pub bar and the restaurant is everything you want from this kind of pub: a limited but wide enough choice of hearty and freshly prepared dishes. The sirloin steak was outstanding: tender, well seasoned and cooked to perfection - you can't ask...

Passing by frequently we stop to have lunch here. If visiting from abroad this is a genuine 14th century house with lots of character. The food provides a wide choice and is very good, staff friendly.

We have stayed at The Swan on a couple of occasions in the last few weeks. On both occasions both the accommodation and restaurant have been absolutely excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Swan - a great service, for a great price! Will definitely stay again.

We stayed here for two nights. It's a 14th Century Inn. The rooms were clean and tidy, and warm - and there was tea/coffee and biscuits. The breakfast is not extensive but it's satisfactory and hearty - and the coffee was delicious. The staff were all very friendly. I know some people said that they had problems getting back in...

Nice Pub, lovely dining room, very traditional, spotlessly clean and very light and homely. Young enthusiastic service, fantastically delicious roasts had, very good menu and wine list. Overall good value for money. The only thing that puzzled me was that it was only about a third full for Sunday lunch, I would expect it to be packed to the rafters....

Lovely experience staying here for a nearby wedding. Staff were very helpful, evening spent in the bar the night before the wedding was great. We only ate two breakfasts as opposed to any proper meals in the restaurant but the cooked breakfasts were perfectly good. Other friends we were with were very complimentary about the restaurant. Charlie behind the bar...

It is not typical for me to complain, I only tend to write TripAdvisor reviews in praise however I was so disappointed with this place that I felt the need to write an impassioned review. We stayed here for a wedding for two nights. It started promising, the room was nice and we had dinner in the pub which was...

Stayed for two nights in May. Arrived at 4pm to find it totally shut up. We eventually were let in and shown to our room. The bed had the worst mattress I had slept on since my seven years at boarding school in the1960's . This mattress appeared to have started life in that decade. The food however was outstanding...

Dear Sir, Thank you very much for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and the food. I can only apologise for the mattress, but I can assure you that this wont happen again. We have recently finished a full refurbishment of all the rooms, the last one being completed on Friday! I'm sure that if you were to...

Stopped off here enroute back to london for lunch with my family. Reception from staff was very friendly and interior of pub really nice. Have very picky children but something on the menu for everyone. Pulled pork with bubble and squeak to die for and homemade burgers got the seal of approval from boys!!! Gammon steak melted in mouth. Will...

We have recently visited the Swan for an evening meal, we had come to expect an evening with good service and very good food but found the outcome was quite different. The staff were helpful and friendly but seemed worn out and unenthusiastic about their job. The meals themselves were comparable to something no different from what you might find...

Dear Sir, I can only apologise that we weren't up to your expectations on this occasion. We pride ourselves on our warmth, friendliness and service. So you can imagine my concern if we are not practicing what we preach. Our menu and specials boards offer a real mix of foods and flavours, our pub favourites and grill section is designed...
