Busy hotel, lovely location. Reception areas and dining room very nice with lovely views. Breakfast came at an extra cost. Bedrooms were very small and badly in need of upgrading, with Windows that didn't close properly and the wind whistled all night. Very over priced. Not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.

We planned our trip to Highlands and I was unable to find any hotel in Isle of Skye, so I was left with no choice but to settle here in Malliag. I am glad I stayed here. This place turned out to be a pleasant surprise for us because we were expecting a normal 3/4 star hotel. It seems that...

This was a perfectly situated hotel to base ourselves in for three nights to explore the surrounding areas and Isles. The first two nights we stayed in the very new, large downstairs suite with a lovely outside deck and for the third night we were moved upstairs to a newly refurbished superior room with nice views and sunsets. The reception...

My husband and I attended our niece's wedding on 4th June and just wanted to say that the staff and Sheena made the day so memorable. The food was excellent and everything ran so smoothly. The outside space was very nice and the views are spectacular. If anyone is thinking of having a Highland Wedding I would recommend this hotel.

Upon recommendation we decided to have an evening meal here. A great choice as the evening was warm and our table outside afforded amazing scenery over the bay. The food too was great. Tops were my langoustines- so fresh and beautifully cooked. The staff were friendly and attentive.

The rooms were simple, clean and nice. The hotel was very pretty, definitely worth staying if in Mallaig. The restaurant was...odd to say the least. The staff seemed to have no idea what items were on the menu, much less what the dishes consisted of, nor did they have any ideas or recommendations. The food was acceptable but below average....

The West Highland Hotel is the major hotel in the village of Mallaig. Mallaig is used as either a jumping off point for a trip to the islands or to Knoydart or as a place to stay after taking the wonderful train journey from Glasgow or Fort William. This hotel has most of the facilities that you would want and...

During our visit to Mallaig we had diner at this hotel. This restaurant has a nice ( windy ) terrace. We ordered both for " the fisherman's plate " 2 kinds of shrimps, 2 ways of mackerel, 2 ways of salmon, mussels. Together with salted bread with butter. It was accompanied by a bottle of New Sealands Marlborough sauvignon blanc....
