Booked on line well in advance of my trip. Good communication from Cindy. Arrived slightly early and had no problems getting in to the room and having a shower. Room was very clean and well organised. Cindy, the host, is a pleasure to deal with. She is well organised, personable and even did a load of washing for us and as a cycling tourist this was invaluable. The property is located a short walk from the centre of town. Cindy told us about the local restaurants and shortcuts to town. Breakfast was huge. So huge in fact that we asked for a smaller breakfast on the second day. Plus you will see hummingbirds feeding as well! A bonus for us was the fact that our tandem bike was secure in the garage during our two day stay. For a relaxed, clean and hassle free stay with good food I would recommend this property and Cindy. …
Very happy to have booked & stayed at Crown House. The owners are very friendly & accommodating. Hearty, large-portion breakfasts were served at a scheduled time that was agreeable to both us and the host (anywhere between 6-10 am). Breakfasts items included omelettes, waffles, bagels, yogurt parfaits. Our room had a very comfortable Queen Bed and 3 piece ensuite bath. Although the bedroom was on the main, it was very private and quiet. Our room also opened on to a upper wrap-around deck with a private table & chairs for us to enjoy.
We stayed here on our trip to Vancouver Island on our way to Campbell River. A really comfortable room with plenty of space. A HUGE breakfast cooked to order (doggy bags provided) The town was pretty quiet as we visited out of season.
Wow! What a breakfast. It kept us filled into the afternoon. Delicious. We had the upstairs room, which was perfect for what we needed. It was clean and had plenty of room for our "stuff". Cindy had lots of helpful suggestions about what to see. Lake Cowichan turned out not to have much of what we were interested in, probably because we wanted ocean more than anything!
We spent only one night here, travelling down the island by car. It is a lovely room, despite a couple of cobwebs on the antique 'closet'. Our room was on the ground floor, private, quiet, large, comfortable. Cindy, the hostess, is very nice and helpful. She also makes a killer breakfast! It would have been nice to spend more than a single night here.
