We traveled from BC to Cape Breton Island to enjoy the Celtic Colours music festival. We spent 2 nights over the course of our journey around the island at the Gagnon House and loved our experience. We loved the quaint space and the personal and comfortable environment. Our hosts were welcoming and informative and welcomed us in to their impeccably...

My husband and I stayed at Gagnon House on the first and last nights of our 10-day bicycle tour around Cape Breton island. The innkeeper, Judy, kindly allowed us to keep our car at the house during our trip. The house is warm and comfortable and Judy was the best possible host. She gave us a lot of good information...

Very nice, cottage-like setting from which to begin or end a visit to Cape Breton! Owner is very charming and is a great source of information about CB - most of which has been gained from her personal experience in the National Park and the surrounding area. The room and common areas were very clean and bright. FYI - there...

Judy is a fabulous host, happy to chat or give privacy. The house is full of character, beautifully decorated and super clean. Judy serves a great breakfast, even asking how strong we preferred our coffee. If you are in Port Hawkesbury, this is the place to stay.

In Port Hawkesbury for only a night, we were pleasantly surprised by this easy-to-find, convenient character home. The room was well appointed and comfortable, with a large bathroom beside. Great breakfast to order. Host Judy was warm and engaging. To top it off, the price was excellent! Definitely recommend.

I'm keeping this address for next time. We were staying at the Maritime Inn the night before and I regretted not staying...

This was our first visit to a bed and breakfast. Judy and Darryl were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Gagnon house is situated close to the port. An easy walk down the hill. I would recommend staying here.

While this was by far the least expensive of 4 B&B's on our vacation, it was also the most charming! From its hillside perch with views of the Strait of Canso, to its old hardwood floors and rooms with roof lines, every angle of this house was interesting to view. The beds were firm for a great night's sleep. The...

B & B's are about the people in addition to the accommodations. Daryl and Judy were wonderful hosts. The shared bathroom was no problem. Our bed was comfortable and the house was very clean. Breakfast was delicious. The house is old but lovingly cared for. Parking was a bit dodgy but manageable.

We were arriving late to Cape Breton Island in order to do the Cabot Trail. After a long drive, we were very pleased to discover Gagnon House. It certainly has a lot more character than any of the hotels in Port Hawkesbury. Room was clean. We had our private bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. Darrell was a nice host. He gave...
