I would rate the hotel 3star. Pros = check in was allowed an hour early, the room was clean, restaurant on site was very lovely good food and friendly staff Cons = Pool floor was very dirty and grainy, the hot tub was colder than the pool temperature, the plugs were few and far between in our bedroom, the tv remote only worked standing a couple feet in front of the tv and really pushing on the volume button, there was a door to the outside which was a nice feature to a grassy area EXCEPT that area was covered in dog feces and our key card wouldn’t work to let us back in and we got locked outside, our room was near their laundry facilities and that door was left open so we could hear washers and dryers going non stop.
We stayed 2 nights in the suite with our toddler and had a great stay. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and having a separate room for our child to sleep in meant that we all actually slept. The staff were welcoming and helpful. We will stay here again when in the area.
I always try to stay at the Maritime Inn Port Hawkesbury. I was there Saturday evening. The people who work at the Inn are very friendly. The breakfast at the restaurant is always very enjoyable. My room looked like is was newly renovated. Very clean and quiet.
We stayed at the Maritime Inn two different nights as we toured Cape Breton for Celtic Colours. The hotel was convenient, large rooms and a nice restaurant on site with good food. We would definitely stay here again.
Good location, good room, good onsite restaurant, friendly, good beds. We had planned to arrive on ceilidh night, and were pleasantly surprised that the location was an easy walk away. This was a low-stress stay at the end of a good but tiring vacation.
Great place to stay with family and it’s dog friendly Love the pool and restaurant , always great food. Staff is wonderful and always very helpful. Rooms are always clean and beds are very comfortable.
We booked this hotel because it was pet friendly. Unfortunately they didn’t note that on our file as requested and put us on the 3rd floor which is not ideal when travelling with a dog. It certainly wasn’t the end of the world since we were only there for one night. The room itself was spacious with two comfortable queen beds and space for the dog bed. We went to the restaurant to get a takeout order so we could eat in the room with the dog. We placed the order, paid for it and we’re told to come back after we took our luggage to our room. We’d been on the road since 5 am and this was now 8 pm so we were tired and hungry. I came back to pick up the order and I waited, and waited. I asked the woman and she went to check, they’d lost our order. She told me to go to the room and they’d bring it up. They eventually did, right before we were going to to to a fast food place. The food was ok. They didn’t do anything for us for screwing this up. And I’d given them a tip when I’d paid for the order. After dinner I went to try and find two bottles of water. Their beverage machine only takes cash, of which we had none. The lady at the front desk was not helpful. I was so exhausted and almost in tears (I know.. small thing but we’d had a very long and a bit stressful day). A little kindness or helpful suggestion would have gone a long way. My partner ended up going to the gas station next door to get two bottles of water. Problem easily solved if she had just suggested that. The hotel is right in the middle of town. I’d prefer a bit more rural setting and grass area when travelling with a dog. Will consider this more carefully next time. However There is enough of a grass area out the side. To summarize, physically this hotel,is ok, it’s the customer service that is sorely lacking.…
I stayed here for one night in late July. First impressions were of an ordinary looking building set off a main road with plenty of car parking. Staff at reception were efficient but not particularly friendly or welcoming. My room was at the end of a long corridor with a worn carpet & drab walls. The room was quite cramped, but the bed was comfortable, so I had a good sleep. The air-conditioning was quiet, easily adjustable & worked well. The bathroom was an adequate size with toiletries & towels supplied. There was a TV, desk & chair along with a chest of drawers in the room. For the price paid, this room was quite expensive. However there are few other hostelries in the area, so they can justify the high price. The restaurant within the complex is particularly good & worth visiting - but book early to reserve a table.…
I used to stay here frequently many years ago while working at a local forestry mfgr. and it was always fine back then, and centrally located in town is a plus. Fast forward 20 years an the property has been updated and the rooms have improved amenities. I was travelling for work recently and just spent an overnight. I reserved a king room (only a few dollars more) which was a spacious corner room, updated, and well appointed. The washrooms remained rather small but have been updated along with the room and nicely done. I was very satisfied with my stay and would definitely recommend this property.
We had a 2 night stay at the Maritime Inn, convenient base for a quick discovery of the Cabot Trail. Friendly staff, good food and comfortable rooms. Swimming pool is good size and clean. Just short staffed for housekeeping, so no room cleaning on multiple nights stay, but towels can be changed.
