We enjoyed our stay at the Maritime Inn. The beds are very comfortable. The room was clean and had an outside entrance which we found very convenient. The staff were exceptional especially Colleen at the desk. She is very friendly and pleasant. There is a restaurant on site with good food. The only con that we felt was that breakfast was not included.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed 2 nights in the suite with our toddler and had a great stay. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and having a separate room for our child to sleep in meant that we all actually slept. The staff were welcoming and helpful. We will stay here again when in the area.

Great stay, quiet and nice sizeable room, good amenities. There isn't much to do in this town, but it's near a few restaurants. It is a good short distance from the causeway off the island and other attractions on the western side of Cape Breton too.

Not much sleep complained about the noise up above us she said she will look into. It made no difference after a while you see complaining get you nowhere not happy at check out. She asked how was your day? I said other than the noise above us that we complained about just wasn’t a great day, they offered no discount or anything. Bad customer service as my opinion

There was no heat in our room when we arrived. Room was cold and damp. Problem was that my wife is in cancer treatments and one of her symptoms is that she is cold all the time Staff tried to help but were limited. With extra blanket we were ok. The Manager, Donna, was very understanding and very pleasant to talk with the following morning. She was very generous and we wish to thank her and her staff. Thank you all from Louise and Dave.

Beds and the shower were great but the pillows were too hard - a variety of choices would be nice. Not enough plug-ins - adding to the lamps would be helpful. Front desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful.

The rooms and beds are clean, but the common areas are dingy, dirty, and past the "well worn" stage. We used Hawkesbury as an overnight stopping point on our way to the Cabot trail. Unfortunately we prebooked the hotel, and their cancelation policy is 100 percent fee unless 24 hour notice. Had we known the state of the premises, we would not have booked it, but rather have traveled the additional hour to Baddeck. We never ventured into the restaurant, given the lack of cleanliness in the halls and lobby, we figured the kitchen wouldn't be much better. If you only need a place to flop for the night and aren't too picky, then stay here. If you expect value for your money, travel onwards, and you can get better, cleaner, accommodation for the same price or less.

Room was nice and clean. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Went beyond their duties. Had car trouble in the morning and staff drove us to where we needed to go which wasn't far from the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.
