Detailed Reviews
Our best laid plans took a backseat to the wildfires and we could not camp at the Pinery due to the air quality. Our hearts go out to all of those fighting the fires and fighting for their homes. We and our friends had travelled a distance to meet so we could not get back in the car and head home. We also needed an accessible room that a motorized chair could get in and out of. In a tourist town such as Grand Bend one would think that there would be more than one hotel (which was beyond our price point) that had an accessible room. The Pine Dale Motor Inn was a lifesaver for us. Our friend could get into his room and our kids enjoyed the indoor pool. The pub like bar was a lovely little spot to catch up with our friends and share some laughs. The owner came to our rescue the next day when we were able to go camping but could not find any accessible cabs or transit to take our friend to the Pinery. She graciously stored the chair in their staff room while we camped at the Pinery which has one of very few accessible beach chairs across the provincial parks. Life should not be so hard for people with mobility issues. We were again reminded of the impact that the kindness of strangers has on our lives and will remember our time at the Pine Dale Motor Inn with gratitude.

Brought my teenage son and his friends here for a birthday celebration and we had the best time ever. GORGEOUS grounds, nice salt water pool, hot tub and sauna. I quite enjoyed these amenities, and felt very comfortable and at home. The staff were patient and kind with my noisy and excited teens. The owner was friendly and welcoming both on the phone, and on the grounds.
The rooms, the grounds, and the pool area were spotless and sparkling clean. I watched the housekeepers carry in fresh clean comforters in the morning to the rooms that guests were checked out.
The rooms were stocked with everything you need including dish towel and dish cloth, coffee maker with coffees and teas, a fridge and AC that both worked great, and they even had little spill cloths that were previously stained face cloths that you can use for spills, or taking off make up. In our case it was used to clean up spills…… (more than 1)
10ish minute walk to the lights at the strip. Dollar store beside the hotel, and a no frills right across the street. Fantastic location!
Some Pet friendly rooms, with a beautiful area for your pup to run around.
I would absolutely book here again.

Room Tip: Walking to the beach/strip is faster than driving if you go at peak times. Parking is difficult...

This is a well run, well kept motel. Rooms are well kept and very clean. We booked this location because they allow dogs. They charge a $35 surcharge each day, which I feel is somewhat pricey. That would be my only complaint, that the room rate is pricey for what you get. Other than that, it was fine. Close enough to the strip that you can walk, but far enough that you do not hear the business of the strip. Lake Huron/Grand Bend beaches are spectacular!

Paid 322$ a night and not only is there no wifi but you also don't get any reception on your phone. I didn't like the fact that myself and my employees have stayed here and supported this hotel during the winter months and now I have to pay 3 times the price this room should be because it's July and the pandemic is over. I wish I could overcharge just to make money back. Myself and my employees will not be supporting this hotel again.

We stayed here for 2 nights, including our anniversary, during a bike trip along the Waterfront Trail. Mary Jo was really wonderful, giving us lots of suggestions, a bottle of wine for our anniversary and a safe dry place to store our bikes. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The only negative was that it was a bit pricey, presumably due to the location at Grand Bend, and it was a shame that there was no breakfast or pool available at that price level (due to Covid). We did, however, get a coupon for a breakfast next door at the Lake Hound which was fantastic. The location is excellent - close to everything. We would definitely go back.

Stay at Pinedale gor 4 nights. It was amazing. The owners and family are very nice. Beautiful trees, flowers, picnic areas, a beautiful gazebo in the back. A nice dog run or just a nice walk by river. We reallyz enjoyed ourselves and this will be where we nook again and again. Best motel i have ever been too. The beach, is a 10 minute walk. Resturants within walking distance. I absolutely love this place. We didn't even want to come home. Bring charcol and a hot plate and start cooking . There is a charcol bbq for all to use. Its very well kept and clean. Here are some pics i took. 😊

First stayed here about 40 years ago, and then every other year we visited on our vacation. We always had an interior room but was offered a courtyard one this time. $215. It was okay. Was surprised to be asked for a $300 security deposit though. It’s the first time we’ve ever been asked for one. The gardens and walk at the back were nice.

We were supposed to stay at another Inn north of Grand Bend but upon arriving there, we decided we DEFINITELY did not want to stay there. So we drove around, did a bit of research on the internet, and ended up at the Pinedale. We were pleasantly surprised! Sharon behind the desk was very nice and set us up in a clean, comfortable room which contained both a fridge and a microwave. She invited us to use their saltwater pool and sauna, which we did, and also recommended a restaurant just a few doors down for a bite to eat. Aunt Gussie's. It was good - certainly not fine dining but very good. We even returned for breakfast and found it is very popular among the locals. The Pinedale also has its own pub, although they don't serve any food. There is also a games room where you can shoot a game of pool if you like. Immediately to the north of the Pinedale is the local LCBO, along with a dollar-type store and pizza place, and across the street is a grocery store. Their gardens are supposed to be quite nice but due to the weather we didn't get to take a look at them, and being October they were likely past their peak. All in all it was a good stay.

Check their brochure and it boasts clean room and what not. Absolute lies.
I could not withstand the permanent, strong, musky urine smell that made my stay not that comfortable.
If you like to sleep with spiders and bugs you may like it. Service is horrible and staff lies a lot. No internet and noisy Not at all recommended. Better to sleep in your car it would be more peaceful .Shall never visit again as charged me $175 for a filthy room.

Hello, We are sorry that your stay was not to your standard. We have high standards here at the Pine Dale and are known throughout Grand Bend for it. If there were any issues that we were unaware of you can always come to the front desk. We are more than happy to assist in making your stay the best it can be. As for the rate that you mentioned, we do not have that here at this establishment. Kind Regards, Guest Relations Manager
