We camped for two nights in Pinery. We were lucky enough to have a site right in the dunes, with backyard access to the beach. We camp about once a year, in tents, and this was one of our best trips.

The park is nice, but it is so big that you have to drive everywhere. Sites are nice, but don't really accommodate a 30 foot camper.
Poison Ivy everywhere. That is the reason for only 4.
Staff is very nice, and lots to do.
I love the Pinery, its such a beautiful wonderful place, love the beach and trails especially the bike trail. The bathrooms are very well maintained and the pinery police are out patrolling the roads making sure dumb drivers are not speeding while there are kids...More

We were there mid June (14-16) and we did see quite a few (4 in total). It is a high risk area for ticks so we were very thorough in checking ourselves/clothes/tents, etc frequently. If you follow proper precautions you... More
