We stayed at Sea Cliff in the one-bedroom cottage for more than two weeks in late January-early February 2010. As per the name, these charming, spotlessly clean, and well equipped little cottages are situated high on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic side of Dominica. From the moment of our arrival, when Gwen greeted us with a key and a smile,...

It is hard to imagine feeling further away from the hustle and bustle of post industrial life then in the friendly confines of the four cottages that make up Sea Cliff cottages. Perched over Hodges Bay beach just twenty minutes from Melville Hall Airport peace of mind is there for the most troubled of souls. Set in the Dominica, the...

I never understood the point of a Caribbean holiday until the first time I stayed at Sea Cliff. Now I can't wait to get back there and to Dominica. It's beautiful. The houses look great and are perfectly set up--everything you need to cook, rest, enjoy the beauty, go to the beach. Plus you can get to know this very...

I have traveled to Dominica four times and had the pleasure of staying at Sea Cliff Cottages for the past three trips. I cannot say enough about this great place. The owners (Jim and Gwen) as well as the staff (Gwenneth, Pascal, Prim and Augustus) are all very friendly and accommodating people who are happy to help you find whatever...

Sea Cliff is a perfect "home base" for the complete Dominican experience. 20 minutes from the airport meant that catching the 7am flight out didn't require leaving at 4am. It's close enough to the main road to make bus transportation easily accessible yet set back to allow plenty of peace and quiet. Having the use of a local cell phone...

I spent three weeks at Sea Cliff Cottages in November and it couldn't have been better for me. I was down there in hopes of finding good people and good places to paint and everywhere I looked I found both. People all over the island were so helpful and friendly and that for sure was true at Sea Cliff. Augustus...

My wife and I stayed at Sea Cliff for our honeymoon. I should say first that neither Sea Cliff nor Dominica is ideal for novice travelers. This is not your average Caribbean destination. But for independent travelers looking for quiet, natural splendor, adventure and laid-back surroundings, you can't beat it. The spot on a cliff above the Atlantic is spectacular....

Wonderful place, wonderful people! A great place to stay, where you can self cater or eat out easily - not the case elswhere on the island. Fruit trees in the garden - you can help yourself and make your own fresh fruit juice!

We stayed here for a week for our honeymoon. The cottages are rustic with wonderful ocean views. Very Private and relaxing. The cottages were very clean and came with everything we could have needed. The staff was wonderful and very helpful with our questions about navigating the island. Totally reccomend this place if you are looking for a place away...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set on a hill overlooking the beach and islands below, Sea Cliff is a place for the more independent travelers. Each cottage is equipped with full kitchen, dining area, balcony and all you need for short or longer term stays. The view of the sea is wonderful and the fresh breeze keeps you cool at night. We try to be environmentally correct running on solar power, composting and keeping a low energy profile (though we do have wifi !)The grounds are planted with fruit trees and flowering tropical flowers and shrubs. In the right season you can enjoy mangoes, papaya, grapefruit, lime, oranges, guava, avocado, pineapple and of cours the coconuts !The flowers attract the hummingbirds and there are also the sea birds and hawks swooping above you. Nature is abundant ! The village is less than a mile and there you will find restaurants, grocery stores and different small shops. There are also a number of churches and a gas station. Hodges beach below us is about a five minute walk down the hill and the river also flows into the sea at this point. There are several other beaches, hiking, fresh river swimming all within walking distance. A good location for those who wish to become familiar with the people and the culture of the island. ... more   less
