We were upgraded as were were the only guests. The room was spacious, homey and nicely decorated with a beautiful view of the owners cottage garden. The bed was large and comfortable There was a very nice large bathroom, complete with a spa bath and separate shower. Very pleasant proprietors who left homemade brownies as a welcome treat. In all,... More

While looking at the accommodation from the street doesn't look promising, it is an amazing place. It is more of a cottage feel but great privacy. And a great personal touch with homemade brownie left for us. Plenty of towels and bedding to use and room was nice and warm. There was also the offer to take towels over to... More

Excellent little place, large room with king size bed, kitchenette, shower, spa bath and toilet. It was warm Sue and Gordon are fantastic hosts. Sue even left us baking after servicing the unit. For a weekend away for two it was absolutely great. We are from Hamilton NZ and we highly recommend it.

My wife and I had a night here on the way back from a wedding in Nelson. The welcome from Gordon was warm, friendly and inviting. We were initially a little disappointed with the room - it is a little tired and it doesn't look like much has changed since it was built. It was however spotlessly clean and we... More

This is a lovely place to stay as there are only a few rooms. More like a homestay really, we stayed in room 1, lovely view of the garden and very spacious. Very large bathroom and comfortable bed. The owners live in a beautiful home in front of the accommodation. Gordon was very welcoming and Sue had made some lovely... More

We stayed for a night on our way over to the west coast. Perfect location for exploring the town and the hot springs. Very homely set up with baked goods and chickens. The bed was amazing especially after sleeping in a tent the night before. Our host welcomed us and left us to enjoy the area. Lovely gardens and private... More

Stayed here for the last two nights. Sue is very accomodating. Got to our room and there were fresh eggs laid from the chickens that day and brownies! The room was comfortable and perfect for what we needed. Only a short walk to the town which is perfect. Would definitely stay again!

Pretty gardens but not quite 'Affordable Luxury', as advertised. Friendly hosts, comfy bed and spacious room, but it was pretty tired overall and needed a good vacuum. The bathroom was badly designed and flooded when you used the shower. Nice spa bath though. There was a shelf above the handbasin that caught your head when you cleaned your teeth. More... More

Our family of 5 took 2 adjoining rooms here. Spacious, spotless, the hosts clearly paid attention to detail. Freestanding cottages are surrounded by a lovely, well-manicured garden. So refreshing to get free wifi! Very short walk to thermal pools & town shops.
