We booked in no problems with happy Tristen n Oko to great us. We got the room we asked for. Then a short walk to the pools. Everything is close and you can see most of the main street from the entrance. The backpackers is a clean and tidy place with Tristan n Oko only a moment away if you...

This was my favorite place to visit within Hanmer. It was cozy and friendly with the added bonus of free ice cream. I spent allot of time here since the earthquakes in Christchurch. I used it as my refuge. That was until the last time i tried to book. I emailed to say that I couldn't make the date id...

Usually I thank people for their effort to write a review, saying something that I can learn from positive and negative feedback. The only thing that I learnt from your feedback however is that in the future I ought to be less service minded and just stick to the cancellation policies that bookers agree with upon booking. I have send...

Super cute and cozy backpackers. Nice kitchen to cook and comfy beds. The gentleman who checked us in was really lovely and kind. My only complaint is the morning we were due to check out. The woman working was very rude to the guests. She yelled at two girls for having brought the communal sugar to the table and was...

Thank you for your feedback and kind words regarding the hostel and the service you received upon check in. We hope you enjoyed your stay and the brand new mattress in your room! We are proud of our customer service in general but unfortunately it not always easy. We are only a small hostel and usually we do all our...

My boyfriend and I stayed for three nights in a private double room and what a stay we had. Hanmer is a lovely little town and this quaint hostel made the stay even more lovely. Tristan is a wonderful host, very helpful and always around if you need something. The hostel is only small, but fabulous in every way. The...

This was my second stay as I've returned to NZ and it was even better than I imagined. I booked the family room for my aunt and I and we had private access with table and chairs to enjoy the sun and then stars. The kitchen in the hostel is very well stocked and there is a great BBQ. I...

What an awesome place with a lovely friendly vibe. The hosts are friendly and helpful. The place has a wonderful gentle feeling. We had the self contained room with a double bed and a set of bunks. A lovely outdoor table and chairs to eat dinner and drink a lovely bottle of wine. It is only a few short steps...

Stayed here for one night on our Xmas travels south and it was probably the best stop of the trip. The room was simple and clean, but perfect for us. The remainder of the facilities were ideal to relax in and enjoy the company of others. I would definitely stay here again if I get the chance.

Very personal feel to thos hostel. The managers even provide home baked treats for those staying. It is centrally located in town with an easy walk to the supermarket, eating places and the local pubs. I personally enjoyed the hike up conical hill as recommended by one of the staff. Thanks for a great stay. Would definitely recommend.
