Room was ok - needs some updating - however the staff - food and skiing was great especially for young ones. The food was amazing in the restaurant and breakfast [that was included with the room stay package].
We recently visited the Hockley Valley resort for a family wedding. The front desk staff were friendly and professional and had us checked-in in no time at all. Our room was spacious and clean. The wedding went off without a hitch and the food was delicious We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
2nd stay at Hockley Valley and we will come back! Clean spacious rooms excellent pool and hot tub with ski / golf right outside the room. Breakfast buffet was excellent and the resort is small with nice vibe close to Toronto but large enough for great amenities including a spa!
Staff are so lovely, breakfast buffet was amazing and the rooms are nice and clean. It’s a breath of fresh air to stay in a small resort and relax enjoying good service without the feeling it’s only to turn over your table and get you out as fast as they can. Ski conditions are perfect and the lifts are moving fast. We love the March break activities. Wish we could stay longer :) Rooms are older as other reviewers say however no issues with hot water, cleanliness etc. This is great value and perfect for us - if they did a massive reno on the rooms you’d be paying double. Thank you Hockley.
Had a great time skiing, swimming, sauna, hot tub and Lounging. Went with my husband, grandson and son. We had a premium room that was very reasonable. Hardwood floors, fridge, sitting area with 2 queen beds. Washroom was clean as well as the rest of the room. Although premium rooms do not have a mountain view it was a nice scenic view, The complimentary breakfast was 5***** all the way.
Stayed Friday to Sunday as We had to be in the area. Check in was ok, went to use the pool and the fitness room but the smell of the area was so bad we were almost gaging. Smelt like a septic tank was over flowing. This smell was also outside the hotel as well and in the main lobby sometimes. Shower in the room had very little water pressure almost not enough to wash the soap out of your hair. Breakfast one morning I got a piece of glass in the whipped cream. (Bit down on something crunchy and spit it out, noticed it was a small piece of glass). At breakfast they bring you a bill for $0 each morning, I guess they expect a tip for for showing you to your table. In the room the wall paper is peeling from the walls, when sleeping in the bed our feet were higher then our head as the mattress was so worn. At the Spa my wife's nail polish bubbled up, went back for refund, but was told no refunds only credit for future spa times. Credit coupons we were given expired 2 years ago and only valid Monday to Thursday. We will not be staying here again.…
Girls Trips away! Pulling up I had really high expectations, especially because of the cost. 4th floor room feels like you are in hell! So hot! Beds ok, pillows not the greatest fridge mildly worked, tv small and old! Little to no water pressure Pool and hot tub good! Doug was a gem who cleared away the firepit for us, upon asking if someone could lit a fire for us was told "go to the bar " gentleman was rude and told us "it's too dangerous" ( there was also a group of other ladies requesting a fire)like there was 3 ft of snow around us CABIN restaurant hmmm...portions very small including drinks! very $$ for what you get. Not a bad experience but pasta was still hard and for $43 the striploin is all you get no veggies/side went outside and fire was smoldering we managed to get it going but all the wood in the wood box was wet ?!? Spa was wonderful, yet could use a remodel Robes looked and felt like they should of been thrown out years ago. Then back to our firey brimstone temperature room, only to discover while pulling back the blankets as it was so hot ...a fake eyelash...ewwww thought it was a caterpillar. Called front desk and they didn't seem to care. if some remodeling and price reductions this could be a very pleasant place to go again! We were happy to see each and that was priceless but felt the value of almost $2K for 2 nights and spa was alittle too much for a resort that could be so much more Also i realize we did get a bunch of snow but the snow removal was painful!…
The Snow Globe dining experience was outstanding! A 5 course meal, paired with local white and red wines. The Snow Globes are provided with a small space heater, which is just enough to take the chill off from the winter air. With winter coats still on, the dining environment was quite comfortable. Our 1 night stay in the resort was found to very clean and comfortable. All staff were interacted with were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Our room was on the back side of the hotel, on the second floor and gave us a view of skiers coming off of the slopes.
This is the second year we have done a mini ski getaway at Hockley Valley. Its an ideal ski hill for kids. My kids too a ski lesson and were so proud to take their first trip on the chair lift. The hotel had many activities to keep kids occupied throughout the day. This was a weekend filled with memorable moments for our family!
Horrible experience. Pre checked in at 1130am. Told to come back after 1pm to check-in as it was to early. Came back at 4pm which is check in and my room wasn't ready yet. 420pm now and still out of a room. 10 year old tv in room, broken chairs and fridge is like warm. At over $300 a night this place is garbage.
